Prince Harry – is he the better brother?

Prince Harry smiling
After Prince Harry called himself a “spare” he put into words something no prince before him ever had. What with his book and the tv series – Harry and Meghan – there has been more controversy about him than ever before. Despite the publicity that Prince Harry has generated, if news is to be believed, it’s his elder brother, Prince William, who is winning the PR war. But who is a better person – Harry or William?

Both have similar shaped palms, squarish, but the fingers are a little different, with Prince William’s fingers likely to be a little shorter and thicker. However, both have long

Rishi Sunak - a good Prime Minister or not?

There is no doubt that Rishi Sunak’s hands show that he is smart, sensible, emotionally stable and has common sense. He came to power as the Prime Minister of Britain in unusual circumstances, but now the question is whether he will do a good job and manage to steer Britain out of the problems it is in currently.

He is certainly capable of it, if one goes by his hands. He has a large hand with clear lines, the fingers are of medium length and held apart, and the palm is broad. He has rounded tips to his fingers and the first phalanges of the fingers are long, except on his Jupiter (index) finger. He does appear to have a slightly short Jupiter finger and the Mercury (little) finger is low-set although it is long. Although the mounts on his hand are developed, they are not excessively developed. The heart and head lines are balanced with each other, even if the headline is a little high and not absolutely straight. The head and life lines are joined with each other considerably before separating.

Rishi Sunak has been compared to Barack Obama, and sure, there are some similarities in their hands in the sense that they both have large hands and clear lines. But the similarity ends there. In reality, they are both

Tom Hardy – Sensitive and Tough!

Tom Hardy’s personality, as shown on his hand, reveals deep-seated emotions; emotions he has likely suppressed. Perhaps acting helps release these pent-up emotions. There is a lot of energy which exudes from his hand, and this is not about physical energy, but mental. He feels very intensely about things and at times it can be hard for him to

The shy Queen Victoria

Queen Victoria line drawing sad
Queen Victoria ruled the UK and Ireland for 63 years, from 1838 to 1901. She was a notable monarch not only because of her long reign but also because plenty of changes took place in the country during her time – industrial, political and scientific. She also had the title of the Empress of India.

It was a pleasant surprise to find a bronze sculpture of her hands on the internet. This hand reading is based on this sculpture on the assumption that it is more or less accurate. You can check out the bronze sculpture here.

Not too many features of the hand are visible, just the major lines and the phalanges and to some extent the length of the fingers and thumb. She had long first phalanges, and a thumb of decent length with a good first (will) phalange and possibly a short Jupiter (index) finger. The headline is sloping and the curve is a balanced one. The heartline is straight and not too long and also without a fork. On the left hand, the heartline is different, more wavy, curvy. The head and lifelines are close together at the start. The lifeline, however, starts to move outwards pretty early.

Overall, the lines seem clear and dark and the Jupiter and Venus mounts are developed. She must have had other minor lines on her hand as well but the sculpture has not captured it. It is a good guess however that

Adele is sensitive and emotional by nature

Adele 2016Adele, the talented British singer-songwriter, made a name for herself at a young age. She is known as a compassionate and idealistic person.

This is not contradicted by her hands. The skin of Adele’s palms seems soft. The ridges of her hand are refined and the lines fine. The mounts are developed though not excessively. The mount of Upper Mars is underdeveloped. The fingers, evenly set, are a good length, neither short not long and have conic tips. The thumb is long with a long will phalange but not thick. The palm is a broad one but neither too broad not too long.

From the point of view of palmistry, there is a good balance if one examines just the shape of her hand and fingers. Evenly set, straight fingers are not as common

Freddie Mercury – a brilliant life cut short

Freddie Mercury was a rock star whose last days were tragic but he left behind a great musical legacy. With his incredible stage presence and incomparable voice, he became a Rock icon. He died at the age of 45, but his hand shows that his natural lifespan was a long one and he had good biological health. Had he not been struck down by AIDS, he would have lived to a ripe old age.

Freddie's lifeline was good (clear and long) but as you can see from this example, the lifeline cannot show the length of life. It can however show the natural lifespan if one is not attacked by disease or killed by accident. Of course, it is likely

Christopher Nolan – a brilliant director

Christopher Nolan, the Hollywood movie director, is known to be a genius. It is difficult to write about Chris Nolan (the Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception are some of his famous works), especially as one has so little to work with. The photos of his left hand (he is left-handed) which are available on the net are few and also hazy.

The shape of his hand is clearly visible, however. His hands are large, with a broad palm, and seem to be a little stiff. The fingers, tapering at the end, are neither short nor too long, and appear to be evenly set except for the Mercury (little) finger which is a little low-set. His heartline is curved, and the headline though sloping

Meghan Markle's personality as revealed by her hands

Meghan Markle - 2018 (cropped) Meghan Markle has been much reviled in Britain and any objective observer will know the coverage has been unfair. One cannot help but be curious as to the kind of person she is. Palmistry can help tell us about her personality.

Markle has a long hand, with shortish fingers and a long palm. The phalanges of her fingers are slim, often waisted. She has a distinctively long first phalange of Jupiter (index finger), and also a long first phalange of the Mercury (little finger). Both the first and second phalanges of her Apollo (ring) finger are good. The fingertips are mostly conic and rounded.

Of the mounts on her hand, the Mercury, Jupiter and Moon mounts are the most developed. There is a formation similar to a Simian line on her right (active) hand which is not present on her left (passive) hand. The heartline is low-set and joins up with the headline a little more than half way. It is not possible to see the other lines very clearly but she has prominent Saturn and Apollo lines on the respective mounts.

If one has to choose one word which describes her, from studying her hand, it would be

The hands of M.I.A Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam

MIA Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam photo
The most fascinating personalities are those who have changed because of their circumstances. And this can be made out by comparing their left (passive) and right (active) hands. The active hand is all about the current status and the passive hand is about the subconscious or inherited.

In the case of the music star and British-Sri Lankan rapper, Matangi M.I.A. (also known as Maya)*, it is so. Generally speaking, this would indicate an unusual (and at times tumultuous) life, emotionally speaking at least. Considering she was a Tamil refugee from Sri Lanka and settled in the UK, it isn't surprising that she led an eventful life which impacted her character.

Mathangi has longish fingers and a longish palm, and this shape points to a sensitive, vulnerable, and intuitive person, a person for whom feelings are important. Her heartline is strong, on both hands, and this fits in

What Boris Johnson's hand says about him

Boris Johnson, one of the key campaigners for Brexit (the Leave EU Campaign) is a potential prime ministerial candidate for Britain. However, his personality as revealed by his hands does not show him to be prime ministerial material.

He has a broad palm, and short fingers with the mounts of Moon and Lower Mars very highly developed. Venus is good too, and the fingers of Jupiter (index) and Mercury (little) are slightly bent and the finger of Apollo is quite strong. The Saturn (middle) finger is a little short, and the lines on the hand are light. The heartline is a good length and the headline is slightly bow-shaped and

Who is Malala Yousafzai?

Much has been written about Malala Yousafzai; glowing tributes in the west and some criticism from her countrymen, even after winning this year's coveted Nobel Peace prize. So, who is she really? A courageous girl who stood up against the Taliban to fight for education, or a puppet of the west? Or is she simply an ordinary girl who has been thrust into the limelight, someone who does not deserve her fame?

Well, she did go against the terrorists, and here is The hand reading of a Terrorist, just to give an idea of the personalities of the people she stood up to.

Her hand shows that she is certainly not an ordinary girl. The main features of her hand are

Amy Winehouse - did she have suicidal tendencies?

A lot has been written about celebs and suicidal behaviour. Experts have suggested that the very quality that makes a person strive for fame (self-obsession) could be a factor in their suicidal tendencies, perhaps if life does not go according to plan. It is suspected that Robin Williams was adversely affected by the diagnosis of Parkinson’s, more affected than an average person would be, because he was famous. He couldn't come to terms with the fact that this is how his life would end and who he would become.

This self-obsession is bound to exist amongst ordinary people as well because after all everyone is ordinary until they achieve fame! And more people fail to achieve worldwide fame rather than succeed at it.

However, if suicidal behaviour and fame are connected through psychological characteristics, then there would be more people who do not achieve fame even after striving desperately for it, and so this self-obsession should exist in their personalities too, as in the personalities of non-celebs. If anything, rich celebrities

The difference between Indira Gandhi and Margaret Thatcher

Indira Gandhi thoughtful
Indira Gandhi was called India's Iron Lady by none other than her British counterpart, Margaret Thatcher, who was known as Britain's Iron Lady! The two strong personalities bonded when they met, have been compared to each other and were believed to share some similarities.

These two ladies were quite different, however, with distinctly different characters. They were almost as dissimilar as their politics. That is what their hands tells us.

Margaret Thatcher’s hand shows her to be bold, arrogant, aggressive and stubborn. Indira Gandhi had a similar image, but oddly enough her hand does not bear it out.

David Beckham's hand reading

David Beckham graphic colour
David Beckham may have inherited great health and physical robustness but when it comes to his intelligence and talent, he has developed these personality traits through sheer hard work and dedication. That's what Palmistry tells us.

Beckham’s right active hand is better than his left, passive hand. The active hand tells us about one's current personality and the passive hand tells us about one inherited or subconscious self.

David has long head and heart lines and

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson - are they compatible?

The hands of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson show that these two people have very different personalities, especially at the deeper, emotional level. Whatever they have in common would be at a superficial level, if one goes by their hands. This could lead to serious issues in a long-term relationship. It's said that "opposites attract" but they

Kate Middleton and the hands of the British Royals

Does Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, fit into the royal family of Britain – temperament-wise? Are her values similar to that of the royal family? If one compares the hands of various members of the Windsor family, then the answer is more of a yes rather than a no. Although Kate is temperamentally different, there is a similarity, especially if one thinks back to how at odds Princess Diana was with

Prince William is not like his father Prince Charles

A cursory glance at Prince William’s hand tells us that his personality resembles his father’s, rather than his mother’s. The major features of William’s hand (which he shares with Prince Charles) are the large, broad palm with the developed mounts of Moon and Jupiter and to some extent, Mercury and Lower Mars to a lesser extent. This means that like his father, Prince William is a good human being, fairly unselfish and broadminded, and also healthy, active and mildly aggressive. There is restlessness in their personalities and a penchant for travel.

However, Prince William’s hand is only superficially like his father’s. Prince Charles’ hands show that he goes to an extreme

David Cameron's hand reading

It is interesting to compare the hand of David Cameron, the new Prime Minister of Britain, with that of the ex-PM, Gordon Brown. If one compares them as human beings, if one compares their character, then Gordon Brown wins.

Cameron's personality is more controlling and manipulative than Brown's, although to be fair to Cameron, their hands show that both are control freaks. Brown is however more pugnacious and argumentative, which can grate on people’s nerves. Cameron on the other hand is

The hand analysis of the Princess of Wales, Lady Diana

Diana, the Princess of Wales, was not an heir to the throne of England, but her hands show that she had some blue blood, if not running in her veins, then certainly in her heart and soul. There are a lot of "facts" about her on the internet, but here through her hand reading, you can find out who she was in her heart. Whether it was poise, sensitivity and grace that she had, or whether it was the love and care and compassion that she felt for people, this woman was a real queen. Her hands show it. She was born an aristocrat and died as one. Her hands also explain why she threw it all away and why her marriage to Prince Charles (now the King) was doomed from the start.

Diana's hands have light lines, and the ridges are fine, and the palm seems soft. She has a low-set thumb, and this is the most important digit in hand reading. She also had a developed Mount of Venus although Mars is not that well-developed. She had many good qualities and one of them was a

The hand analysis of Prince Charles (now King)

King Charles is the kind of person who likes to get things done and likes to see things through to the end. His hand belongs to a person who can get impatient with delay. He is a doer. Active and energetic. All this is evident from even a quick glance at his hand. His hand is fairly easy to read as some of the signs are obvious. Thick fingers, slightly on the shorter side, hand too on the shorter side, and also deep pink in colour, with strong mounts.

But what does this kind of hand show about the Prince as a man? What is he like from the inside? Well, it's not all good.
