Martin Scorsese – complex and brilliant

Taxi Driver movie poster
Taxi Driver was a classic
What did I expect to see from Martin Scorsese’s hands? I know that he is a brilliant movie director famous for dark themes and action films. I expected to find creative brilliance and dark imagination. His hands did not disappoint.

He has a squarish hand with short fingers, and three of these are decidedly conic, maybe even a little pointed – the Mercury (little) and Jupiter (index)   fingers and the thumb. Scorsese has slightly thick fingers with pronounced third phalanges, shortish second phalanges, and a long, slim, first phalange of Apollo on a prominent finger. He has a long, supple thumb with a long will (first) phalange. He has a fairly long, slightly curved heartline reaching the Jupiter mount and a medium-length, slightly sloping headline which is likely forked. The most prominent mounts on his hands are the Moon, including Lower Moon, Jupiter, Venus and Mercury mounts. That’s a lot of mounts to be well-developed. The first phalange of his Apollo (ring) finger is long.

You can check out one of his hand photos here.

It’s all there. His creative brilliance is clearly etched on his hand and it’s not only seen in one place. The headline, the curve of the moon mount and his Apollo finger all point to it. But creativity of the genius kind is not a characteristic that can stand alone like an island,

Satyajit Ray, the personality

Director silhouetteConsidering that Satyajit Ray is such a legendary film/movie director, there isn’t too much information about his personality on the internet. There is a lot written about his achievements. Ray was more than just a filmmaker – he was a writer, music composer, calligrapher, artist and film critic. Yet, not many of us know who Satyajit Ray was as a human being. Perhaps his hands can give us some clues.

It wasn’t surprising to find a long, fine and curved headline ending on the Moon mount on Ray's hands, the hallmark of a creative mind. Such headlines show intelligence and imagination. The headline, however,

Christopher Nolan – a brilliant director

Christopher Nolan, the Hollywood movie director, is known to be a genius. It is difficult to write about Chris Nolan (the Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception are some of his famous works), especially as one has so little to work with. The photos of his left hand (he is left-handed) which are available on the net are few and also hazy.

The shape of his hand is clearly visible, however. His hands are large, with a broad palm, and seem to be a little stiff. The fingers, tapering at the end, are neither short nor too long, and appear to be evenly set except for the Mercury (little) finger which is a little low-set. His heartline is curved, and the headline though sloping

The hand reading of Jackie Chan

The hands of Jackie Chan give us a glimpse into the movie star's personality, and explain, to some extent at least, certain controversial things the actor has done in his life, like not batting for freedom.

The main features of Jackie Chan’s hand are his broad palm, slightly short, broad fingers, a dominant Apollo finger with a spatulate tip, a shortish, bent and low set Jupiter finger, and developed mounts of Moon, Venus and Lower Mars. He has a good thumb, low set, and the top phalange is a little thick, and his little (pinky) and Saturn (middle) fingers are short. His lines are finely etched and the headline slopes in its second part. The heartline is also curved and just about enters the mount of Jupiter.

Are Mel Gibson and Russel Crowe angry people?

Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson are two world-famous actors from Australia known for their short tempers. What are the underlying issues in their personalities here? Lack of self-control? Or tantrums because of their celebrity status? Or maybe they are being misunderstood? Their hands can reveal the inside story.

At first glance, their hands seem similar - the short fingers, and the large, broad, firm but fleshy palms with the development of Moon, Venus and Mars mounts. The hands do show some similarity in temperament but to a limited extent. Both these men have plenty of energy, and both are fairly excitable, moody, and yes,

Bradley Cooper is distant but not cold

39-year-old actor Bradley Cooper (48 now, in 2023, and still unmarried, with a slew of broken relationships in his past) is another one of the perennial bachelors of Hollywood although he was married briefly. Leonardo DiCaprio is in the same boat, though never married and at 48 (in 2023) also has plenty of broken relationships behind him). George Clooney finally shed his bachelorhood at 53, but what of Bradley Cooper? Can the hand give us any insights as to why he has never managed to have a long-time relationship?

What is it about his personality that makes him so? Brad’s female fans must wonder what prevents him from being in a long-term committed relationship. Is it because this Hollywood heartthrob is cold and manipulative as

Ben Affleck's Hand Reading

Ben Affleck's personality must be a very pleasant one because he has a beautifully shaped hand, with long slim fingers, some of them waisted, and a very broad palm, one of the largest I have seen and the fingers are medium-length, if not long. The mounts are not too heavily developed, and the mounts which are well developed are Venus and the Mount of Moon. The thumb is also waisted, a little low-set and longer than normal. The lines on his palm are fine, the heart line long and straightish and the headline a little uneven and seems to be joined considerably with the lifeline. The Jupiter (index) finger seems a little short and the Mercury (pinky) finger a little long.

All of this points to a finely balanced, generous, unselfish, compassionate, and warm person with strength of character and it also shows,

Quentin Tarantino's hand analysis

After reading the hands of two renowned movie directors (Steven Spielberg and Alejandro Jodorowsky) one expected a similar level of creative talent from the hand of Quentin Tarantino, the director who directed Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill. From this point of view, his hand is a little disappointing. His hand does not match the hype associated with his name. However, it makes up in other ways.

Let me emphasise, his hand does show talent, just not

Steven Spielberg's hand analysis

Steven Spielberg speaking at a podium
If I had not known that Steven Spielberg was a film director I just might have mistaken him for an inventor, although a money-making one. His fingers, headline, fingertips, phalanges, and Upper Mount of Moon reveal his imagination, creativity, intelligence and a strong desire for worldly success.

Spielberg was not born this ingenious. Although he inherited a high intelligence, he had an average

Angelina Jolie's hand shows that she is fun to be with though she isn't serious enough!

Angelina, the famous Hollywood actress, can be a little too casual about life and can lose focus. It’s almost as if an important cog in the serious business of life and living, needs a little tightening. This gives her personality an undesirable tilt and lack of balance. But she has other personality characteristics which have earned her fame and name. She has a certain force to her personality, she is a go-getter. Ambitious, daring and dominating, she is an independent thinker who likes to follow through with action.
