Lee Joon-gi - the shy and introverted actor

One of the best South Korean actors today is Lee Joon-gi. After admiring his work in the K-drama series, Flower of Evil, one cannot help but be curious about his personality. Actors are private people and Lee Joon-gi is more so than most. Reading his hand is the only way to uncover the many layers of his persona.

Lee Joon-gi has biggish hands, a broad palm and medium length fingers, with a low-set and long thumb. His fingers are mostly straight, although the Mercury (pinky) finger is bent. The Jupiter (index) finger is low-set, although it seems to be of normal length. The middle phalanges of the fingers are not too long but very slim; first phalanges are long; third phalanges are not developed, and could be on the shorter side or may be just about average. The head and life lines are joint considerably, till almost Saturn (middle) finger. The headline tends to dip downwards after some time, a little sharply. The heartline is curved, long and forked.

He is right-handed, which means the right is the active hand which shows his current personality and the left the passive, showing the subconscious and/or past traits. It is by comparing the two hands that one can know how the person has changed and also if he hasn’t. It’s best to read both hands in tandem.

Lee Joon-gi's hands show that he was born introverted, but as he grew older he started to come out of his shell. Possibly the nature of his work forced him to reach out to others; a kind of pragmatic realisation that networking with others is required. However, his basic nature has not changed, he is an introverted person. Therefore he will not reveal his true self in his interactions with others. This doesn’t mean there is some dark secret he is hiding. It means he doesn’t feel comfortable sharing anything about his personal life.

It is likely that his introversion has helped him in his acting. Generally speaking, people who are introverted are those who delve deep within themselves, and tend to wallow in their own emotions. They are also more sensitive than extroverted people. And then Joon-gi's hand shows that he has very strong, deep emotions. He feels everything very deeply and this too would have helped him become a better actor.

For introverts, acting can also be a means of release of pent-up emotions. All of these factors go a long way in enhancing acting ability.

As his basic nature has not changed, despite becoming a public figure, it is likely that as his work load reduces, he will start going into his shell again. Cautiousness is also a part and parcel of his character, qualities that he inherited and which never left him.

There is an inherent shyness in his character. There is also another issue – a fear that his real self will not be accepted by others. It’s an insecurity about the self, and though it’s not exactly a lack of self-esteem, it works the same way. There is a need for him to develop mental strength.

Joon-gi's hand shows that he is picky. He will not do anything unless he genuinely wants to do it. He will not take on projects just for the sake of making money. He is something of an intellectualist, but emotion plays a part in his decision-making so it may appear that he is not being sensible. His hand shows great determination but only when he has decided on a course of action.

He has a knack of understanding others. Despite this, his nature is such that he hides his true self from people. He is already in his forties, so it's more difficult to change.

Thus, while his hand shows a very warm, giving heart and a loving, affectionate nature, he can express it fully only in close relationships. There is empathy and generosity shown on his hand. He may not exactly be a peoples person, but he is capable of deep everlasting love.
