What do Suresh Kalmadi's hands tell us?

A comparison of Suresh Kalmadi's (politician and sports administrator in India) right and left hands tells us that his destiny changed because he changed. He writes with his right hand, and thus his right hand tells us about his current state of mind and the left, his inherited or subconscious qualities which would have guided him towards another destiny.

Although the differences in his left passive hand and the right active hand are not too many, they are significant. For one thing,
the headline is longer, and deeper on his right hand, and the heartline is more low-set. The Apollo (ring) finger seems twisted a little on its axis and the thumb on the right hand seems to be higher set. The Mercury (little) finger is long on both hands, but the first phalange of this finger looks longer on the right. Otherwise, the hands are similar. The Moon mounts are developed on both hands as are the Jupiter mounts and the Venus mount is limited on both. The thumb is large on both hands and the palm is a little long, and the fingers long.

What this shows is that his intelligence and organisational ability were enhanced to a fairly high degree from what he inherited and this is creditable as it means it is entirely due to his own efforts as these qualities did not come to him on a platter of inheritance. His persuasive powers also increased and he became more articulate and expressive. However, a headstrong nature also developed. While he inherited a desire for fame and name, it became quite enhanced to the point of irrationality perhaps.

The qualities that are inherent in him are that he is a man of action, a doer, and he has an understanding of people. He can evaluate people and situations pretty well and this adds to his capability. One of the weaknesses of his character, according to his hand, is that he can get bogged down by detail and miss the broad picture.

Check out a hand photo of his here or here.

Kalmadi is naturally shrewd, sharp and skilful, and with eloquence which he developed in himself over the years, he can perhaps feel that he is invincible. But he has a tendency to overestimate himself, be overly optimistic and could find it difficult to evaluate himself and the risks in an objective manner.

Tough nut to crack
His hand shows energy and determination, and there is also the ability to stand his ground and not give up. Such people are resilient, not easily discouraged, and do not panic in a crisis. On the downside, they can be quite dogged and resistant to change. Kalmadi is aggressive too, and the aggression and pushiness has increased in his hand (from what he inherited), while his temper has been toned down.

If one studies both Kalmadi's hands, it is clear that the desire for wealth, luxury and status symbols increased over the years. He always wanted the limelight but this became enhanced. One is not sure why this change took place but it very likely happened when he was quite young. In any case, he always had a materialistic streak, even if he preferred to be low-key.

Not an ideal politician
Suresh Kalmadi’s hands are not that of the ideal politician. While he is a smooth speaker and a good manager, he is not a people person. Good politicians need to be close to the people, and to do this they need to possess warm, friendly personalities. They need to like people, and connect with them, like Nitin Gadkari for example. Or say, Nicolas Sarkozy of France.

He has in fact a detached nature that does not sit well with a politician and in addition, there is an inherent selfishness present. His hand also tells us that he is a little suspicious of people, and could distrust them. Such people often get easily offended. And as Kalmadi has a bit of a negative imagination, and a distant nature, it can increase the suspiciousness about other people. This can affect their personal relationships as well.

Corruption allegations
Kalmadi has been accused of corruption while organising the Commonwealth Games 2010, but such allegations are not new. He has been under suspicion for corruption before. Can a hand reveal a person's dishonesty? The hand only shows tendencies and Kalmadi’s left hand shows that he was born a straightforward and simple person. However, on his right hand, the desire for fame and wealth is shown to be quite out of proportion. It shows an extreme desire for wealth and fame and often a person can lose objectivity in taking decisions. It can mean a loss of good judgement. The hand cannot show whether a person with this character trait will actually go ahead and do something dishonest. All that a hand can show is that the temptation is strongly present.

  1. Suresh Kalmadi's father was reputed to be a simple type of person and perhaps this was what Suresh Kalmadi inherited. He must have changed after he joined politics, and Sharad Pawar.

  2. Yeah, I think so too. Politics is murky business and if one survives and thrives the dirt sticks.
