Dr S Jaishankar is a prominent Indian politician, the Indian foreign minister currently. He was a diplomat once and has made a name for himself for being diplomatic, yet assertive, and for his strategic, witty and incisive commentary. There is nothing on his hand which contradicts this image. The hand, however, does tell us something more.

His hand doesn’t have too many lines and the lines which are present, are dark and long. A long straight heartline, a little low-set, and almost end to end. A headline closely attached to the lifeline and though not as long as the heartline, fairly straight and even. The lifeline, though clear, seems to be in two parts but as there were no high-res photos to confirm, can’t really read this line. Who is the more capable and better person? Eknath Shinde, today the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra (erstwhile CM) or Devendra Fadnavis, second-time Chief Minister? By capable I mean a person who will get things done and done well. By better I mean who is the better human being. Maybe both these politicians are equally capable and equally good in their character. The hand can shine a light on the truth.

His personality has been described by many as visionary, risk-taking, hard-working, persuasive, and philanthropic. Needless to say, he also has a lot of business sense, otherwise, he wouldn’t be where he is today.

Rishi Sunak - a good Prime Minister or not?

There is no doubt that Rishi Sunak’s hands show that he is smart, sensible, emotionally stable and has common sense. He came to power as the Prime Minister of Britain in unusual circumstances, but now the question is whether he will do a good job and manage to steer Britain out of the problems it is in currently.

He is certainly capable of it, if one goes by his hands. He has a large hand with clear lines, the fingers are of medium length and held apart, and the palm is broad. Kartik Aaryan is a popular Bollywood star. He has made waves in more ways than one, but one should take these things with a pinch of salt as Bollywood has its own rules which a newcomer might find it difficult to navigate. Madhuri Dixit - sweet and determined!

Madhuri Dixit reached the top in Bollywood and then about two decades ago gave it up temporarily to lead a family life. She has always been known as not just one of the most beautiful actors in the Hindi film industry but also one of the most talented. She is in her fifties now, but is still quite active in her profession. Curiosity about her never wanes and this hand reading has been much delayed.

Her hand is not too much of a surprise. Madhuri has long fingers, a slightly longish palm with slim slightly pointy finger tips. The thumb is long with a long first phalange and the lines too are long, uniquely so. The headline is joined considerably with the lifeline and goes across the hand, sloping a little. The heart line too is long, crossing the Jupiter mount and going to the edge of hand. Shiv Nadar's hands show a clear headed thinker

The most striking aspect about Shiv Nadar’s hands is his dark, deeply etched lines. There aren't too many lines either. Also significant are his long Apollo (ring) and Mercury (little) fingers. Other hand features include a broad palm, well-developed mounts of Moon, Lower Mars, Jupiter and Venus and good first and second phalanges of the fingers. The thumb is a good length and the first and second phalanges are balanced. There is a good balance between the length of the fingers and the palm as well.

Shiv Nadar’s heart and head lines do not appear to be very long although they seem to have lighter extensions. Without seeing these clearly, it is difficult to draw conclusions about this aspect. Arnab Goswami has made a name for himself with a flamboyant type of journalism, heading/owning as he does two of the most popular channels in India, of the Republic stable. There are critics galore but then there are devoted fans too. 

One wonders what makes the man who he is. Shouting and being rude is a part and parcel of his grandiose television persona and at times the “debates” get so heated as to sound almost deranged. Some feel that Arnab is not altogether sane…well, his hands tell us otherwise!

Uddhav Thackeray – practical rather than idealistic

Uddhav Thackeray* became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in controversial circumstances, by joining hands with a rival political party, which oddly enough was mentioned just passingly in Wikipedia. It was believed that joining hands with a party ideologically so polar opposite was going against the people's mandate. It is not surprising that today he has lost control over the Shiv Sena party. He went against its ideals, ostensibly so he could become the Chief Minister. This is something which would have shocked the founder of the Shiv Sena Party, Uddhav's own father –  Bal Thackeray.

What do Uddhav's hands tell us about his personality? He has long hands, in particular, a long palm, and in comparison, the fingers are short with rounded tips. The first phalanges are long, and the second phalanges are average. However, his head and heart lines appear to be balanced with each other and straightish (one can never be absolutely sure of the lines with the kind of photos one has to work with). His Apollo (ring) finger is dominant and the Jupiter finger is a little low-set. Both the Saturn (middle) and Jupiter (index) fingers are a little bent. Why Sonam Kapoor did not make it to the top in Bollywood

Out of the 19-20 movies that Sonam Kapoor has been in, only about 4-5 have been hits, according to Box Office India. She is not considered a super successful actor. She didn't make it to the A-list. But her hands show that she has the ability, the talent.

MG Ramachandran was considered almost a God in Tamil Nadu and was known as "Makkal Thilagam" (People's King).*
