The hands of Acharya Rajneesh, the man who started to call himself Bhagwan and then later Osho, tell us of his weaknesses as well as his strengths. While his hands show some very good traits, they also reveal a dark side.

If one concentrates on the remarkable side of his personality, then what stands out is that he was a thinker. The shape of his hand and fingers, the finger phalanges, as well as his Head Line, tell us that he was not an ordinary thinker but an extraordinarily original one who observed life around him very keenly and found explanations and solutions. His was a mind which
would constantly be on the go and could easily infect others with its enthusiasm and strong beliefs.

His magnetic personality is clearly evident from his Mount of Venus and Heart Line. When this aspect of his personality is combined with the wisdom shown by a strong Saturn finger you have a person who can inspire and lead others on a spiritual path. The shape of his fingers and their position shows that he was the kind who was very independent in his views and cared little for what others or society thought. It is not surprising that Osho tried to found a religion or cult and some would say he was successful.

His thumb and Jupiter finger show leadership qualities like determination, a strong will and the ability to command others. His Mars tells us that he was mentally strong and aggressive.

A mixed bag
He was strong-headed to a fault, shown by his thumb and Head Line. It is important to remember however that this did not mean that he did not listen to others. The shape of his thumb shows that he could be carried away and influenced by those who felt were worthy of his trust. More on this aspect of his character later.

His Venus and Heart Line shows that he had plenty of love and compassion to give but it was a limited love, and selective compassion. It was reserved for those he thought were worthy. To be fair to him, this is not a bad trait in itself and most of us are like this. In fact a lot of us may not even have the tremendous love this man had to give. In a spiritual person however one expects more. Rajneesh lacked the humanitarian kind of love, a love for all humanity, and this is probably why his band became known as a cult. This is shown by the placement of his thumb as well as the overall shape of his hand.

The desire to reach out and help those who are suffering, the humanitarian attitude, is evident in the hands of other spiritual leaders like Baba Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and ofcourse the Sai Baba of Shirdi.

Another trait of Osho's, evident in the shape of his hand, is his suspicious nature. He would not find it easy to trust people in general.

His Mount of Venus, Mount of Moon and heart line if read in combination show sexual passions out of control.

His Mount of Moon shows negative qualities. It shows an unhealthy imagination and selfishness.

Not so pleasant
His hand, thumb and Jupiter finger show something quite disturbing - a despotic personality. A personality whose need for power and attention is out of balance. This trait is missing from his left or dormant hand. The right hand (if you write with your right hand) tells you of the current state of mind. Osho was right handed. His left hand or dormant hand does show a desire for power and fame but this desire is in normal proportions. He changed, and anyone familiar with Rajneesh's life will probably be able to tell when this happened. The end result is that Osho became a person obsessed with power to an abnormal degree. His hand shows that he would do anything to maintain it. His hand shows that he had reached a kind of desperate state bordering on the dangerous. His innate shrewdness and tendency to manipulate people always did exist.

Why he changed
His hand gives us some clues as to why and how he changed. His sudden elevation to a high status played a part and as they say power corrupts. But there was something in his personality which allowed this to happen. His innate suspiciousness and reluctance to trust people in general would keep him isolated. On the other hand, his thumb shows that he could be carried away and influenced. He was of an impressionable nature.

His thumb also tells us that that he was a dreamer and if he wanted to build an empire (which he desperately wanted to do) he would have to have someone else to do it for him. He lacked the consistency that execution of plans requires, and as his Jupiter finger shows, he personally did not even want the responsibility. As he was incapable of doing it himself, unlike some other spiritual leaders like Ramdev or Sri Sri, he left it to others.

My reading is that had he been more trusting, more responsible, and less impressionable, he could have retained the original balance of personality. His basic nature shows him to be an extraordinarily enlightened human being, and it shows him to a good man.

Michelle Obama's hands match with Barack Obama's

Michelle Obama’s hands show her to be a balanced, refined and intelligent human being. In fact her hand and finger analysis shows her to be superior not just intellectually but also in terms of sheer sensitivity and sensibility. She does seem well matched to President Barack Obama, who is of a cerebral bent of mind as well. Further down in the post I will write about some personality traits the two have in common.

Michelle Obama’s double head line is intriguing, and while one wishes one could get a better photograph to study it, it is clear from the little one sees that she has more
or less re-invented herself sometime in her teen years, through her own efforts. This double head line is missing from her left hand, which in her case tells us of her inherited qualities. She has achieved what she has through a great deal of hard work and determination. She has a strong brain, and this means more than just intelligence. It means a brain with staying power, excellent focus and concentration.

What is quite charming about her is that despite her superior ability she remains a reserved, non-egoistic and non-aggressive person (overtly). And a straightforward one as well. This one can see from the way she holds her fingers, their shape as well as her Mars Mounts. Not only is she self contained, she is a calm person, and also disciplined and controlled.

At times she can be gullible and far too trusting (Mercury finger) for her own good. This trait is related to her idealism and belief in the goodness of human beings, evident from the shape of her thumb as well as her fingers, particularly that of the Sun and Saturn. The qualities of impulse, idealism and impressionability tend to sway her, and in the process take away from the strength of her will-power. This is not actually a bad thing for Michelle Obama because her thumb and headlines show a strong, wilful personality. She can be quite obstinate and headstrong once her mind is made up and this is where she differs from her husband who is more accommodating. Luckily her idealism softens her personality, just about saving her from becoming a bully.

Michelle and Barack Obama together
There are a few commonalities in the hands of Michelle and Barack Obama which point to some similarities in their basic temperaments which in turn point to increased compatibility. Both of them are highly intelligent people and temperament wise both are fairly calm, disciplined and emotionally controlled. They are also straightforward. These qualities would make it easier for the couple to understand each other and communicate.

Barack Obama is far more shrewd, and also more aggressive than Michelle is. Michelle on her part is mentally stronger (Mars Mount, thumb and headlines) and this is a good combination of personalities as she would be a source of great moral support to Barack Obama. His hands show that he could become dejected during adversity and negative as well. Michelle on the other hand would be more positive thinking.

Another reason why they should get along like a house on fire is that both have a high sex drive, shown by their heart lines. They must have been attracted to each other surely, but their heart lines and Mount of Venus also show that they have a practical approach to their love lives. When they married they must have looked at the union as a sensible decision.

Reading the Mount of Venus and Jupiter in combination with the heart lines on both their hands tells us that they would have realistic expectations of each other. Neither of them are the kind who will demand attention or crave for love and romance. They can made do without all that somehow. Neither of them are people-oriented as such, and this quality does sit oddly with a politician. Maybe this attitude can be attributed to a certain coolness in their temperaments, maybe even a certain selfishness. It’s how you choose to look at it.

Other qualities:
Michelle Obama’s Mount and finger of Jupiter tells us that she is not after power, and her Sun and Mercury tell us that money for money’s sake has little meaning for her. However, she is pragmatic where money is concerned and would like to earn to ensure a good future for herself and her family. Her Sun and Saturn phalanges show that though she has a talent for making money. But hoarding wealth or revelling in status symbols is not her style. At heart she is a simple lady when it comes to her tastes.

Her Sun finger and Mount, as well as the overall combination of her mounts show her to be a fairly happy and positive thinking person.

She has a thoughtful, analytical and logical mind, ideally suited for professions like accounting, engineering or law. Her idealism would come in the way of her reaching the top, but then making it to the top at the cost of her scruples is not what she wants.

The shape of her hand shows her to be sensitive. She is not the type to forgive easily. In fact one of her negative traits is that she tends to think in a restricted fashion. Her family comes first and it is likely that she has strong feelings about her roots and her race.

What P. Chidambaram's hands tell us about him

Chidambaram’s hand should be very good, considering that he is a top level government minister and presently holds the Home Portfolio. His hand is certainly that of a successful man, but there are certain negative aspects of his character which are clearly evident.
Let us first see the positive traits as revealed by his hand. His head line, shape of the hand and quadrangle show above average intelligence, an intelligence of the kind which shows

a practical attitude and plenty of common sense. He is able to take a broad perspective on issues and will make a good foreign minister if he ever gets that portfolio.

Effective leader
His thumb, Mars Mounts and fingers show an aggressive and pushy person who is impatient to get things done, takes quick decisions and likes to see them executed. He grasps problems quickly, has an analytical mind but at the same time is quick enough not to waste time in the details. When people come to him, he likes to get to the point, and likes problem solvers, not problem creators. He in interested in results. He has a strong work ethic. Yes, at times his decisions are hasty but his intention is to make a difference. His action oriented nature is one of the best traits in his personality.
His thumb, Mount of Venus and Mercury finger show him to be a person who can get along with people, reach out to them and network well. Good qualities for a politician to possess.

Chidambaram’s hand differs a great deal from that of his predecessor Shivraj Patil, who held the Home portfolio during Mumbai’s terror attacks. After seeing Patil’s hand one can understand why he was ineffective as a Home Minister. Patil's hand is that of a person who sees things from his own narrow perspective and he is consumed with how his decisions affect him rather than the country. He finds it difficult to see things in the long-term and not surprisingly, selfishness is a strong trait with him. Oddly enough, Shivraj Patil’s hand shows that he is more intelligent than Chidambaram, but his intelligence is not that of a practical kind. He tends to live in his own dream world.

Negative traits
There are some aspects of Chidambaram’s character (as shown by his hand) which are very disappointing. His Sun and Mercury fingers show a strong desire for wealth and fame, and in comparison, less for power. This is a rather dodgy ambition for a politician to have, and unusual too, as most politicians are power-hungry. Unfortunately, this attitude will be a temptation to do something which is not always above board. Specially when one is clever enough to hide one's wrong-doings.

Chidambaram's hands show that he is suspicious and shrewd person, to the point of being cunning. A person so smart that he will not be found out if he ever does something which he shouldn’t be doing. The problem is that people like him get found out when they become overconfident of their ability to fool others.

Other qualities

His Saturn is very strong and Chidambaram has all the positive qualities of Saturn, in terms of wisdom, common sense and strong focus in life. In fact he is serious to a fault.

The third phalanges of his fingers show his love for the good life. However they also show stinginess and money-mindedness.

He would have been brilliantly successful as a lawyer (he started out as one and this change of career is also evident in his hand) as his hand shows not just a strong and vigorous reasoning ability but an argumentativeness of a kind that enjoys taking the opposite side just for the sake of it. He has the ability to enable him to succeed as a politician as well, and this has been mentioned above.

Temperamentally, he is more suited to the profession of Law. This is because successful lawyers like money and people find this trait quite normal amongst lawyers. We may condemn a doctor or a politician for liking money, or wanting to make it, but we respect this trait in a lawyer. Or at best, we accept it.

Silvio Berlusconi is an emotional and passionate man and also a very intelligent one. It is because of his sharp brain and shrewdness that he succeeded as a businessman, and later as a politician. But if one has to say which career he is more suited to, business or politics, then politics would be the winner.

The first thing that strikes one from looking at his hand is the strength of

almost all his mounts. This is generally a sign of a temperamental and excitable person. Such a hand is not an ideal one for a businessman to possess. His head line is very good though, and shows common sense, intelligence and practicality. His Mercury is strong too, showing his shrewdness and ability to evaluate people. Plus, his Saturn and Mercury phalanges show an economical bent of mind, which is again a good trait in a businessman. Interestingly however, his hands do not show a very strong business ability or money-making ability.

Creative Talent
The development of his Mount of Moon shows a strong imagination and creative talent, but even here he lacks the money making ability from the talent. It is likely that his creativity would be inhibited by his lack of originality. Set ways of thinking always hamper creative talent.

As a politician
To do well as a politician, Berlusconi's Mercurian shrewdness would come in handy. His thumb is a good one, showing strong will and leadership qualities. His drawbacks are such that politics will absorb them. His moods for instance. Once in a powerful position, off-beat behavior is tolerated.

Politics will suit his temperament in more ways than one. There is that need he has, or rather the craving he has, for power and control. A career as a politician would satisfy this need. This quality seems to be an inherited one. Whichever path he had chosen, power is what he would want, whether it was in business or in any other career. Unfortunately he did not have the immense talent it would have required to become the highly powerful businessman that he would have wanted to be.

Not just power, his Jupiter finger shows that he can be quite attention-seeking. That is one thing that one gets in politics - plenty of attention.

Berlusconi's basic temperament is a good one. He has positive qualities of both Jupiter and Apollo. He is a happy sort, quite spontaneous, charming, and brilliant too. He is the kind who loves beauty and art.

In addition, his thumb tells us of his love for independence, a strong reasoning ability and determination. Temperamental he may be, but his head is firmly on his shoulders and people like him naturally rule because they know exactly what they want, are active and energetic, and can connect with and lead people.

Something to worry about

A not so pleasant aspect of his character as shown by his hands (although his thumb shows that he has become far more open than he was earlier) is his aggressiveness, temper and his penchant for being difficult. All this can be quite intimidating. He is the type who is unwilling to take no for an answer. Reading his Jupiter finger and Mount in combination with his Mars Mounts gives this reading. The good thing is that he a very tough man and is mentally very strong, clear headed and a fighter.

His Lower Mount of Venus shows strong sexual passion, and this in combination with his heart line and the Mount of Moon indicates that he is a sensualist. His imagination is not a healthy one.

Berlusconi's Mount of Venus may show passion, but it does not show strong compassion. His hand shows that he did have it but it decreased as he grew older. He seems to have become less concerned with what happens to other people. Ego and the self have become more important, power has become more important, getting his way more important, although he is not inherently a selfish man.

Overall Silvio Berlusconi's hand is the hand of a successful person. He has a good mind, can see things as a whole, is a man of action and is a good decision maker, even if he is tends to be impulsive at times.

Ratan Tata's hand analysis

Ratan Tata, who is presently the chairman of the Tata Group, has always been somewhat of an enigma. Very little is known about Ratan Tata the person. His hands tell us that while he has some very good qualities, there is something about his personality that would make him a difficult man to live with on a daily basis.

The shape of his hand from palmistry’s point of view is good, as it shows breadth of vision and intelligence. It shows him to be an energetic and goal-oriented person. The most interesting aspect of his character
is shown by his Apollo finger. It shows

a very high risk taking ability, a sign of a speculator, of a person who has the talent to make money. It tells us of a person who likes to make money and has the capability to make it. This is collaborated by his Saturn and Mercury fingers which indicate that Ratan Tata is a person who likes to use money wisely, economically, in what he sees as good investments for the future.

Environment has enhanced his business ability
His talent for making money and speculative abilities, which were good to begin with, have been developed and honed to a high degree. So has his prudence and caution when it comes to money. In fact he has become far more prudent when it comes to his actions than when he was a young man.
As he is left handed (writes with his left hand) it is left hand that has been taken into consideration for his current state of mind.

He likes power
However much of a shrewd businessman he is, it is power that he enjoys the most. His Jupiter and Mercury qualities are strong, evident from the mounts and fingers. He has always had a strong ambition to lead, to gain power, and his mind is always on the go, always thinking up some deal or scheme which will add to his empire. He likes control, and tends to be arrogant, even vain. His hand shows that he had these qualities even when he was younger.

His thumb and Mercury tells us that he can be very tactful when he wants to be, and very persuasive and manipulative as well. He likes to get his way and if tact, persuasion, and manipulation doesn’t work, he can become very argumentative, even pugnacious, and finally, very aggressive indeed.

He does usually get his way as he is aggressive (Mars) and has temper as well. Although his will power per se is average (sufficient), it is his ability to push things to happen and his ability to command others which is far above average. In fact he can get to be quite a bully at times.

Softening qualities
He does have softening qualities. His high intelligence as shown by headline as well as the shape of his thumb tells us that Ratan Tata can be influenced, and does listen to others if approached in the right manner. He has the ability to listen to another's point of view.

But what is the method to get one’s way with him? It's simple. The right way!

Principles and ideals are a strong part of his personality. Although two of his square tips and the shape of his hand tell us of his practical nature, his thumb points us in the direction of a certain idealism. This is collaborated by his little finger, which isn’t so little! The Mercury finger not only collaborates the strong business ability that he possesses but also speaks of his straightforwardness and integrity.

Another thing that softens his rather strong will is his excellent Mount of Venus. It shows his love and compassion and is an excellent sign to have in a leader. He will always be guided by the intention to do good to the flock he leads. Add to this the streak of idealism in his personality and his honesty, and it tells us of a man who will want always aim to do right by his people and be fair and be just. He may love to rule, but he will be a warm and just leader. Plus he has a strong heart line. His decisions, whatever they may be, will always take into account the human factor.

His personal life
There has been some speculation about Ratan Tata's sexual orientation and a reader has written to me asking me whether I can tell of a tendency to be gay from a hand. Well, sexual orientation by itself cannot be told from a hand, but sexual passion and interest can be. And he has that in normal amounts. Sensualism is present in a stronger degree. The Jupiter finger also shows that he likes to enjoy life and is a sensual man. This is collaborated by the third phalanges of his fingers.

And as to the question whether he is gay or not, even if he is, Ratan Tata is too private a person to make it everybody’s business.

The reason one knows little about him is that he is rather secretive and closed about his personal life and can be difficult to approach at a personal level.

If one has to conclude one could say that even though his personality may not be perfectly balanced, mainly because of his tendency to be aggressive and controlling, it is these very qualities which have been beneficial to him as a business leader. The most important thing is that he is a good and principled man.

Madonna's hands tell us that she is a private person, rather secretive, suspicious and difficult to approach. Perhaps that is why there is a mysterious aura about her. One never really knows what is behind that steady smile of hers, what she is really thinking. The way she holds her fingers tell us this and more. The Mount of Venus and heart line confirms that she doesn’t reach out to others easily and could even considered as somewhat lacking in warmth. She has a good heart yes, but it is reserved.

As a person she is driven by some sort of nervous
energy. A comparison of her lines with the overall size and shape of her hand shows an imbalance. She has more will than the energy her body can provide her with. As a result she could burn herself out, if she hasn’t done so already. I’ve read that she follows a strict health regimen and well, she needs it. If she didn't, then with the level of activity she has enforced upon herself, she could quite likely collapse.

Her amazing discipline (shown by her normal third phalanges and thumb) shows that she can prevent herself from excesses if she wants to. However this doesn’t mean she will not go to an extreme if she believes she needs to. Her strong will, shown by her thumb and its phalanges, alongwith her burning ambition, shown not just by her Jupiter finger but also by her fate line, is something that will drive her on forever, till the very end of her life. She will never give up, although she could take things too far.

A talented star
And does she also have the talent that matches her strong drive and ambition? Ofcourse, all too clear from her Upper Mount of Moon which shows a high level of creativity, and also her Mercury finger and fine head line. Her talent is multi-faceted. Her assets are her ability to work hard and her brilliant tact. What goes in her favour, what makes her a true artiste is her flexibility and the ability to take in impressions and make them a part of herself. The shape of her thumb, the flexibility of her hand and fingers, the quadrangle, the texture of her hands as well as her fingers all tell us this about her. She absorbs ideas quickly, makes decisions quickly, and is in a hurry to execute her ideas. The square tips on her Sun and Saturn fingers show an ability to be quite practical in her career decisions, even if some of them may be taken seemingly hastily.

Impulsiveness is a trait accentuated by the start of her head and life lines as well as her supple and impressionable thumb, and it can lead her to take many bold and sudden decisions. One of the reasons she does what she does is that she is an original thinker, very independent emotionally and psychologically, and is clear about her goals.

Her impressionability, her tendency to get carried away, and jumping to conclusions can be an asset to her as an artiste, but it can affect her personal life.

The knots on her fingers, her first phalanges, as well as her fate line tells us that she has a plan and knows what her goals are. In fact, she is a thinker, however strange her decisions might seem to others. She knows what she is doing.

That she is individualistic everyone knows. It is collaborated by her hand, the way she holds her fingers. Such people carve out their own life by the dint of their strong focus and tenacity, they have an uniqueness that comes from being independent thinkers who are not afraid to tread unknown paths.

Steady and steadfast
She is a calm lady. None of her Mars Mounts are developed and her Plain of Mars is hollow. Plus her hand shows refinement and tact. This means that her aggression towards others is well in control. She prefers to drive herself rather than drive others.

She often gets too engrossed in her dreams to pay much attention to the rules of society.

Weaknesses
Emotionally she can be rather distant, and it is partly because she doesn't love people in general, and partly because she is very self sufficient. This is in a way not a weakness but a strength. It's how you look at it.

However calm she appears, her thoughts are not pure, in the sense that she is rather negative, and critical of everything and of people as well. This is shown by her Saturn finger as well as the development of her Lower Mount of Moon. She would never be entirely satisfied with anything. Her thoughts could turn morbid on occasion. She would definitely think thoughts of death, and failure, and could become disturbed. However nothing of it will show on her face.

Overall, Madonna’s hand texture, the fineness of her lines, the shape of her thumb and mounts all point to the fact that she is very talented, and is a person of delicate sensibility. She is certainly someone who could be considered a superior human being in this sense although living with her would not be easy. One cannot not help comparing her hand with that of another music star, Michael Jackson. There is one remarkable similarity in their hands. More talent and intensity that the body can bear.

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s hand is that of a very intelligent man. Unfortunately, his hand also shows that he is not a strong leader, an accusation that is often hurled at him. However, he is not weak because he lacks will power and determination. So what is it about him that makes him fall prey to manipulation?
An analysis of his hand reveals the intricacies of his personality and tells us what makes him tick.

The shape of his hand shows that he is a broadminded and unselfish individual with noble ideals who will always put his country first. True, his four conic fingers tell us of too strong an idealism, and if it wasn’t for his thumb,

headline and the shape of his hand, one could well have dubbed him as an impractical dreamer.

Dr. Manmohan Singh's thumb is strong, and shows his ability to achieve what he sets out to do. The headline and shape of the hand shows a practical bent of mind, enabling him to function well in the real world.

This quality alongwith his excellent reasoning powers, strong concentration and memory (more so in his younger days) are a powerful potion for academic success.

His hands also show that he is meticulous about his physical surroundings and appearance.

His weaknesses?
The hand texture shows sensitiveness and refinement. Such a sign in men is significant, as it is not normally found on a man's hand. It often makes men's personalities almost effeminate. With their feminine side developed, coarseness and crassness causes actual pain.

Sensitiveness and refinement is one of the reasons which prevents Dr. Manmohan Singh from being a strong and domineering person. His thumb shows normal will power, sufficient for anyone to be successful in any sphere of life. But he needed an extra strong and dominating will because his sensitiveness coupled with an unwillingness to actually fight it out, confront and face unpleasantness softens his will. It prevents him from getting his own way. Manmohan Singh could also do with more resistance and doggedness in the face of opposition. His Upper Mount of Mars, although reasonably well developed is not as strong as his Lower Mars.

This shows that he will withdraw, not because he is afraid, but as his conic side shows, as a matter of principle. Getting involved in a mental brawl or unpleasantness is repugnant to him. He will feel in his heart that "Right" will win over "Might", that some good forces will make it happen. He will not dirty his hands.

Good balance
Overall, Manmohan Singh’s hands and fingers are well balanced. They show judgment, and the ability to see another’s point of view. His Jupiter and Saturn fingers tell us that he is honourable and religious. The Mercury finger gives him the power of expression. It tells us of a straightforward, simple and honest man. It makes us wonder what a man like him is doing in the murky world of Indian politics! But we already know that he was made the Prime Minister because those who knew him were aware that he was trusting, decent, and not hungry for power. A man they would find easy to manipulate. But soft or not, one cannot help but feel that Dr. Manmohan Singh is what India needs.

Pope Benedict XVI is known as a person with strong views, and this aspect of his character leaps out at you from his hands. The colour and texture of the palm, the thumb and its phalanges, the heart line as well as the seeming lack of suppleness of the hands - all point to it. Several signs pointing to the same trait intensifies the strength of the reading.

But what lies behind his strong stand on various issues like abortion and homosexuality?

Values most important to him are
his ideals of righteousness, honour, ethics and religion. Religion taken to the point of belief in the supernatural. This is shown by both his Jupiter and Saturn fingers and their tips. His fingers also show that he is straightforward and direct in his views…he is what he appears to be. He has strong ideals (fingers conic) and he wants to live by them.

The length of his fingers reveals that he is fairly quick to think and act and will fearlessly express his views. His thumb tells us that he will do it in no uncertain terms and will do it aggressively. The Pope’s Mars Mounts are strong, which show him to be a soldier (in this case of God) as well as a person who will take a cause to its very limit, to an extreme. It tells us of a person who has a temper if things don’t go his way. People like him hate doing things by halves. They are also eager for action and are impatient for results. The Pope’s strong views, strong desire for action, his aggressiveness, as well as refusal to compromise (shown by thumb phalanges) makes him a rather formidable person.

He lives in a different world
The development of the first phalanges, particularly that of Saturn, show Pope Benedict to be a person who likes to study, read, and live in the realm of the mental, in the realm of theory. He is not interested in the commonplace or the mundane, and neither does he like to get into the details. Combine this with an underdeveloped Mount of Venus and you have a person who will live in an ivory tower, and find it difficult to connect with his fellows. Venus is the Mount of warmth and love and does not mean just sexual warmth.

The Pope's hands also have a well developed Lower Moon (as opposed to other Moon Mounts) and this alongwith the narrow Venus makes it easier for him to hate that which he feels contempt for.

Important lines on his hand and what they signify
The most important line in the Pope's hand is the Life Line, but although it shows that he is blessed with natural health and plenty of energy, his type of personality is often beset with health problems. The second most important line on his hand is the heart line, and it is clear from it that the heart rules. His head line shows a superior intelligence no doubt, but even then he lets his emotions take precedence. Emotions which are primarily concerned with a love for his ideals, and anger towards those whom he considers wrong.

Although the Pope’s fingers are conic, they are not so conic as to make him ineffective. In fact he has the practical will which gives him the ability to execute well and manage money. However money by itself means nothing to him. He may enjoys his comforts, but above all comes his faith.

Other qualities
His Mercury finger is very strong, one of the longest I have seen, and it gives him quickness, persuasive powers and the power of eloquence. It also gives him the power to evaluate people, and manipulate them.

If one has to sum up his personality as seen from his hands one can say that he is a person set and determined in his ways, a man who towers above others by the sheer force of his personality, ability, talent and ofcourse, beliefs. The only downside is that in the process he can lose touch with his flock.

A personality characteristic evident from Swami Ramdev’s hands is his strong desire to be in the limelight. Fame and renown have always been his driving forces and still are.

Interestingly, there have been significant changes in his personality over the years. This usually means that the person has changed the course of his own destiny and carved out his/her own path. This usually happens either because of circumstances and/or because the person has made a conscious effort to change himself. Baba Ramdev's desire for fame alongwith a slight selfishness was always present in his character (Apollo finger, shape of hand) but a facet of his personality that has developed
is his strong business acumen. This is clear from the changes in the phalanges of his Apollo finger. The right finger shows the current state of mind and the left the inherited qualities, or rather, the past.

Ramdevji honed a talent to perfection and then made money out of it. In the process his basic personality underwent a transformation. Even the Swami's intelligence increased over the years, shown by the change in the headline on the right hand. This is a rare sign in any hand. You will find people who let their inherited intelligence and talent rust, but in Baba Ramdev’s case it is just the opposite. An achievement indeed, made possible due to inherent ambition.

Whether or not he would have achieved his ambition of becoming a great yogi if he had not developed marketing and business abilities one cannot say.

There have been other changes in his personality. He learnt to keep his own counsel (thumb, lack of suppleness of hand). He was an open person earlier. People who bare their heart to others are usually trusted more. Openness however is not a quality that sits well with a person with material ambitions.

He was also born with a lack of interest in physical comforts, something that can lead to the development of a person with an ascetic bent of mind (third phalanges, texture of hand, size of mounts). Asceticism in Hinduism has been associated with being a true sage. This quality was not developed by Ramdev, although it is important to mention that even today his desires for the physical comforts of life are less than that of the average person.

Baba Ramdev was born with strong and intense ideals but these have been diluted. (comparisons of two Jupiter fingers). This is confirmed by the headline. In any average person a small amount of idealism heavily dosed with practicality is an excellent sign as it helps him/her make money and live happily in the material and practical world. In a Swami one is not sure if materialism over idealism is a desirable trait.

His current head line gives us an explanation as to why some of his intrinsic values changed. While the line shows intelligence, it does not show steadiness of ideas. It shows instead a person who will change his stance towards important issues after a lapse of time, however rigid he may seem at that point. It is as if his inner core is not solid.

Other qualities
One of his drawbacks (lack of suppleness of hand, hand texture, strong Saturn) is that he has some traditional and old fashioned ideas and tends to be conservative.

The way he holds his fingers tell us that he does what he wants and often disregards advise. He is less concerned with what the future will bring. He lives as he pleases.

The shape of his hand shows that he is a thoughtful man, likes to go into detail, and at times could miss the wood for the trees.

He has a tendency to be suspicious.

He will be particular about how people speak and behave. He is sensitive and careful with the way he spends money.

A good man
All this does not mean that the Swami is a bad person. On the contrary, he is a good man, upright and talented. He has not just business acumen, but also an extraordinary/brilliant talent/skill which he has developed by the dint of his own merit and hard work. What has aided him in his success is his superior ability to express himself in beautiful mental pictures (the Sun finger as well as the development of his Mercury and Moon). He imagination is an asset to him.

The development of his Mount of Venus is good, and shows the love he has to give. This is more than just compassion for humanity. It is a love that reaches out to all and sundry, to individuals, and this in combination with other signs, tells us of his charisma.

Swami Ramdev calls himself "His Holiness Swami Ramdevji Maharaj" but whether he deserves that title or not is not for me to say. All that his hands show is that he is a talented and savvy businessman who has love to give to people.

Rafael Nadal - Hand and Finger Analysis

All great sportsmen are strategists. Some are better than others, and Raefal Nadal’s hands show that he is one of the better ones, even better than Roger Federer. True, he does not plan as much, nor does he go that much into detail, but Nadal’s hands show unusual shrewdness. More important, he can think and act quickly. He is flexible, takes instant decisions, and that too almost intuitively. Nadal has strong qualities of
Mercury, as is evident by both his finger and mount, and sportspeople with these qualities are not just mentally dexterous, they are have amazingly skillful and nimble bodies. Mercury gives him craftiness as well. In fact no one will really know what Raefal Nadal is thinking. He is not what he seems.

His innate cautiousness is shown by the start of his head and life lines and confirmed by his thumb. These signs tell us that Nadal keeps his cards close to his chest. He is also inwardly calm (Mars) and this enables him to take the right decisions with a cool head. This makes him a dangerous opponent.

He thinks on this feet, and can therefore outwit his opponent. He is not as aggressive as some other tennis players, certainly not as aggressive as Federer, but he doesn’t need to be. He has own game plan, which is usually flexible. And one needs to add, a plan which may not be quite straightforward.

A decent guy
This is not to say that Raefal Nadal isn’t a gentleman. He is a refined person, kind-hearted and charming, and this is shown by the texture of his skin, his Mount of Venus, as well as his thumb. His talent for uttering the right words at the right time (Mercury, thumb) can make him everyone’s favourite.

Individualistic and strong
The placement of Nadal's fingers show that he is different, or rather, individualistic. His thinking and his actions stand out. This is partly because he tends to think out of the box and does not follow the herd. Moreover, he does what he likes, and at times breaks the rules of society. But he does what he feels is right.

His thumb reveals his strong will power and determination, persistence and stubbornness. He isn't the type to give up easily.

What is it that drives him?
It's certainly not money. His Jupiter (conic, long first phalange) gives him a streak of idealism and righteousness which is not contradicted by any other sign. He wants to always do the right thing, and can be critical and judgmental of those whose behaviour he doesn't approve of. He has to be careful that he doesn't become a hypocrite as not all the things he does are absolutely correct.

He is likely to have a great love for his country.

He wants to be the best in his field, and wants to keep improving his game. Although he has good self-esteem, he genuinely feels that to be the best he needs to keep learning. He has his heroes and looks up to them. He will be critical of himself because he wants to improve. He is very far-sighted and prudent in this regard.

He may enjoy money, but does not want it intensely. This is shown shown by his Sun and Mercury fingers. Sure, he likes to enjoy life, shown clearly by his Jupiter finger, but for him money is a means to an end. Although his taste might be a trifle flashy, status symbols as such do not matter too much to him. (Sun finger phalanges)

Other qualities
His fingers show that he is not consumed with neatness in his physical surroundings and may not always take care about his appearance. He is too engrossed in his daily tasks and finds these aspects of life cumbersome.

His good finger of Apollo as well as his fingers overall tell us that he is a spontaneous and fun-loving guy, likes beautiful things, and is in fact quite dashing and flamboyant. What makes him so is his boldness in expressing his personality. Several signs confirm this reading - the way he holds his fingers as well as their length.

Overall Raefal Nadal is not the kind of person you can take lightly. He always has something up his sleeve.

The hand reading of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar doesn’t claim to be a Godman although his official website does call him "His Holiness." His claim to fame is that he is a spiritual guru. What do his hands say? Is he genuine or not? If not for hand analysis it would be a difficult question to answer in an objective manner. Well, even a cursory look at Sri Sri’s hands show him to be a thinking person and a compassionate human being. However, there are other facets to his personality.

Both his Sun and Mercury fingers reveal that that he has a talent for making money, and a desire for it as well. And even though his Mercury finger tells us that he likes to make money by using his mind, this could point to one thing – that he just a clever businessman. But it isn’t as simple as that. Each one of us has something in us that drives us, and most businessmen are driven by money or at least the power that comes with money. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar may desire money, celebrity and power, and also like to flaunt it, but the critical difference between him and a businessman is that he wants power and fame not from wealth, but from the respect and adulation that comes from intellectual achievement. This is clear from the first phalange of his Jupiter finger with its slightly conic tip. It’s certainly not as contradictory as it sounds, because people are never black and white.

Not a fraud
Take him or leave him, the truth is that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's hand does not show him to be a cheat or a fraud. He wants respect from his wisdom and understanding, his ability to think, and analyse, all which he has, shown by the Saturn finger. In fact, these signs are far stronger in his hand than the desire for money, which means that this is what matters to him above all else. The shape the Mount of Venus is an additional indication that it is for some high minded work that he wants to be known.

As Mercury and the Mount of Moon give him the ability to express himself and spread his word, it becomes easy for him to achieve his goal. It is the two square tips, his second phalanges, and the shape of the mount of Venus and Moon that tell us that he is not satisfied with just doing this. He wants something on the ground, use his talents for some practical end…in other words create infrastructure or make money.

He has a very good thumb, large and low-set, and it leaves us in no doubt of his intentions. His intensions are humanitarian. Such a thumb gives a strong sense of purpose, the ability to lead, and a thinking mind behind the leadership. It gives a man character. It gives him generosity, unselfishness and compassion as well as determination.

Flaws in the personality
But yes, this gentleman has a flaw. I am not referring to his love of making money or love of comforts, which is another thing that people may dislike. It is his too strong a will, a will and determination that can be taken too far, making him obstinate and unreasonable. He also tends to speak his mind in no uncertain terms, at times rubbing people the wrong way. However, when he is being unreasonable, the state of mind is temporary. His head line as well as well as the thumb tells us that he is not pig-headed, and logic can prevail after a while.

Another flaw in his personality is that he is not entirely open. Considering that he has other good characteristics, openness would have been a great asset. It would have made people trust him more.

Other qualities
His hand shows that he has musical talent or at least a strong appreciation of music.
He likes to go into detail, and is excellent at analytical thinking. His mind is very organized. He likes to pick things to pieces and analyse them and go deep into everything. He likes things well planned and likes to ensure that no detail is over looked.
He is particular about small things, and is sensitive.
He is quite restless and in his heart of hearts, a dreamer. Some of his ideas/schemes can be quite impractical.
Sri Sri loves to travel, loves nature and enjoys his solitude.
If one has to sum his personality, one can say that he does seem to be a “guru” if one believes in gurus, but he sure is a modern day guru.

As you all know Bill Gates is not your average Joe. He was not born that way either. He was born gifted. Gifted with a fine brain plus the talent to make money. He didn't squander his inheritance. He developed all his good traits, and more. Some traits developed in him over the years because of the path he chose. The analysis of his hands reveals to us what Gates is all about.

Almost every sign in his hand tells us of his sense of balance.The shape of his hand tells us that he views things in a broad perspective. The way he holds his fingers and thumb emphasizes this sense of balance and tells us that he does not hold extreme views. His excellent finger of Saturn, which is the balance wheel, tells us about his wisdom and prudence, as well as trustworthiness, strong focus, and dependability. The head line confirms the common sense that he has in plenty. And although he thinks brilliantly and independently,
his originality does not make him a maverick. When he takes decisions, he weighs the consequences, even if he goes against advise.

A creative businessman
He enjoys creating, and also enjoys making money out of it. These are inherited qualities. This is shown not just by the Sun and Mercury finger, but by the middle phalanges of all his fingers. It doesn't matter what profession he had decided to follow, he would have minted money. He has an astute business sense and shrewdness in the judgment of people and situations.This seems to be in his blood, because his left hand shows this trait too. (The writing hand tell us of the current state of mind and the non-writing hand the past) He is money-minded and economical as well, shown clearly by the third phalanges of Mercury and Saturn. He does spend, but on something he believes is necessary.

Where is philanthropy shown on his hand?
Bill Gates is equally famous for his philanthropy. Surely this quality sits uneasily with such a hard core businessman? Businessmen generally have a ruthless streak, and do not get this involved in social causes. The answer is clearly etched on Gates' hands.

The overall shape of the hands and fingers is the framework of the personality and all signs and lines on the hand are to be read within this framework. The shape of Gates’ hand shows a broad perspective on life to start with, telling us about a person who is not selfish and or narrow minded. This enables him to see things beyond himself. There are his conic tips on three of the five digits and importantly on the thumb, and they tell us about his strong idealism. This means that whatever talent he has, whatever job he does, he will be guided by the desire to make a difference. He is not one to immerse himself in mundane meaningless tasks however much money it gets him. As his strong Jupiter shows, he is someone who likes to make a splash, do things that create an impact. He is a thinker, and likes to make grand plans. In other words he thinks big.

The qualities described above do not necessarily explain the depth of the charity work that he does. But the setting of his thumb does. It shows a certain amount of compassion, generosity, sympathy, and willingness to help others. While helpfulness is there in both his hands, the other qualities are not present as strongly on the left hand. This tells us that this trait has developed in Bill Gates due to his inherent idealism, broadmindedness, intelligence, sensitivity, and one presumes because of his success. His love for people and humanity, shown by the Mount of Venus has also developed.

The sensitive pads on two of his fingers and texture of the palm show his refinement, and a heightened sensitivity to surroundings and to people.

Other qualities
His optimism, shown by his third finger, is quite remarkable. He has an agreeable, happy nature, although underneath this agreeableness and friendliness Bill Gates is very determined, and likes to gets his own way. If he cannot get it by being aggressive (his level of aggression is very high, shown by Mars) he will manipulate and also use his diplomacy, tact and fluency of expression.

The best part is that although he is controlling and competitive, he does not possess the strong domineering and dogmatic streak that some successful people have. In fact, his thumb speaks to us of the flexibility of his will, and his ability to be influenced, not just because he has a strong ability to reason, but because he does not let his ego get in the way.

Although his fingers shows that he likes the pleasures of life, they show discipline too.

If one has to sum up, one can say that Bill Gates has one of the best hands out there. It is not often that one comes across such enormous talent, as well as someone who is a balanced human being.

His hand appears to show some health problem, at least in the past, although it's difficult to be sure without studying the lines on the palm closely.

Shashi Tharoor's hands tell us the kind of politician he is

Shashi Tharoor’s hands show him to be a man who enjoys mental pursuits and that qualifies him to be an intellectual. However I have not been able to see the lines on his palm clearly and cannot confirm it. The shape of Tharoor’s hands and fingers do give a fair idea as to what kind of a person he is though.

The secret of his success
Success depends a great deal on personality and Tharoor (Minister of State for External Affairs) has a strong personality. His above average will-power, strong dominating will, ability to command others with a purpose, as well as good reasoning powers, judgment and common sense are all seen on his thumb. In addition to this,

his thumb shows excellent executive and managerial ability. This in combination with a strong will shows a person who is efficient and capable. This indication is further strengthened by his head line, good Jupiter Mount, strong finger, and the elasticity and colour of his hands. The first and second knots (as well as his headline) on the fingers add deliberation of thought and analytical ability.

Weaknesses
Tharoor's Jupiter finger tells us that he tends to be controlling and arrogant to the extent of being a bully. He can be attention seeking and worse, set in his ways. As his Upper Mars is also very well developed, this gives him an ability to dig in his heels and not give up. He is a tough nut to crack. This is actually an excellent quality, a quality to admire, this quality of mental toughness, and when combined with some of his other traits it can make him a formidable adversary. The disadvantage is that he can become very difficult.

However, he is saved from becoming pig-headed and unreasonable by various qualities shown by his supple thumb, flat will phalange, square tips and head line. He can be influenced and persuaded. Common sense and a practical view of things help. His refinement also softens his will. Shrewdness (Mercury) enables him to understand when he needs to give in.

Does his hand show that he will make a good politician?
He seeks responsibility and is ambitious and manipulative. Power is important to him. He prefers to lead in a job which requires substantial mental effort. But then, he would put in mental effort in any job he does. Sounds good, as many Indian politicians seem to lack in this department.

As Shashi Tharoor has leadership qualities and executive ability, it would make him an invaluable cog in the government machinery. If he likes power a little too much, well, we can forgive politicians for that. In any case, he has the ability to keep himself in check. He is not dishonest and that is an important qualification for an Indian politician as well! Money is not his driving force, power is. He certainly desires money, not just because he likes to live well, but because of the power it brings him.

His shrewdness gives him the ability to evaluate and manipulate people. All this will hold him in good stead as a politico.

The only thing that could prevent Tharoor from being an ideal politician is that the shape of his hand indicates a certain amount of selfishness. He tends to see things from his own narrow perspective all too often.

Other qualities
The placement of his fingers show that he is prudent, cautious and careful about the future. He likes formality and has a conservative streak. He is not an open person and will go out of his way to keep certain things he deems private away from the public eye. In India, this is possible as our reporters are more interested in the private lives of actors rather than politicians.

The Saturn finger shows his academic bent of mind, and his strong focus in life. He does suffer from a few negative Saturn qualities, although in moderation: cynicism and jealousy.

Both his Mercury and Apollo (Sun) tell us of his power of expression. However, he is not exactly an original or creative thinker. This is evident not just from the placement of his fingers but also finger tips and his Mount of Moon.

He can be an impulsive spender. This can be seen from a combination of signs, like supple thumb, and the third phalanges of all fingers. They tell us that he enjoys the good things of life a little too much, and also that status symbols are important to him. In fact the third phalange of his Apollo finger is quite out of proportion to the other phalanges. Add to this his willful nature and it explains his desire to live a five star life, which he may or may not be able to afford.

Roger Federer is an enigma to many. His hands give us an idea as to what kind of a person he really is. He is a complex personality – a person who seems calm and controlled to the world, but who is coiled up like a tight knot inside. Skilful and talented but vulnerable and soft inside.

Roger Federer’s hands show him to be very balanced - which he is ofcourse. Hands neither short nor long, fingers neither short nor long. Fingers, including the thumb, all of the right size, and with a good combination of square and conic tips. Mostly straight. The kind of balance shown is precisely why he has been able to function so well, control any extreme trait. His breadth of vision, balanced mind, common sense, thoughtfulness and reasonableness, all have helped keep him on the straight and narrow path.

Soft inside
A person is but a mix of various traits and if personality traits balance each other out it works out fine. If not, there can be trouble.

Roger Federer has a few weaknesses. While he is prudent, cautious and dependable, he is altogether too serious (Saturn). He was always the serious sort (born such) but this tendency has intensified over the years and my guess is that this is because he took up professional tennis at a very young age. This must have deprived him of the carefree life that many teenagers have. Being very serious and focused is an excellent trait ofcourse, but it can be taken to an extreme. Not that Federer cannot enjoy himself. The square tips and balanced hand show that he can summon up the necessary equilibrium.

His hands also show a temper (Mars). This is an inherited quality. If he seems calm nevertheless, it is because of the ability to control himself.

His Upper Mars tells us he can suffer from anguish and self-doubt, be disheartened, and can find it a little hard to hold up emotionally during bad times. No one likes to lose, but Federer takes it worse than most. He may not always show it, but he feels very angry when he loses and often directs his anger at himself. This trait does not combine well with the seriousness shown by Saturn, because it makes him see situations (and also himself) in a far more serious and worse light that is really the case. In other words he can lose perspective.

When he is down, the aggression and temper which he has (Mars again) cannot sustain him. One needs an inner strength and he gets it from people close to him.

His strong Moon qualities like strong imagination, restlessness and diffidence and the impressionability of the thumb don’t give him that strength, and in fact take away from it.

Yet strong...
The way Federer holds his fingers tell us that he likes to take his own decisions, and does what he thinks is right, and does not always care what others think of it.

He has awesome discipline and control, all evident from the lower phalanges of his fingers, his head line, and his thumb.

He also goes into details, plans and analyses, and has a systematic approach to his work. He will want to take care of all loose ends, study and analyse, and ensure that he does not overlook anything.

Federer is a pretty shrewd guy and can be tactful and persuasive. Dependable and reliable, his hand shows talent and a high level of skill. His physical skill is to a large extent dependent on his mental skill, because of the way he thinks and plans. If he has been successful it is not just because of his hard work and skill, but also the way he thinks and also the enormous discipline and focus that he has.

Good person
He is a good human being. Even if he likes to make money, money by itself is not important, excellence is. Winning is too. That is what makes Roger Federer who he is. He is not interested in showing off his wealth (Sun finger) and not interested in status symbols. If required he can lead a simple life. He is not stingy and has good taste.

He may not always be diplomatic, but he is certainly not stubborn. He is in fact a very pleasant person. His balanced nature ensures that.

Comparison of Shirdi Sai Baba's hands with Sathya Sai Baba's

I don’t believe in re-incarnation, but even if one did, and checked the hands of the Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi and compared them to the hands of the Sai Baba of Shirdi (from genuine photographs) one would find the two hands very different. This means the two are very different in personality. But if Sathya Sai Baba’s hands tell us that he is not like the Sai Baba of Shirdi, what do they tell us about him?

He is only too human.
Sathya Sai Baba’s fingers tell us that he enjoys the pleasures of life, just like you and me. There is nothing bad in this indication as most people are like this. It is very rare indeed to find a hand that shows an ascetic bent of mind…and you guessed it! Sai Baba of Shirdi’s hands indicate that he has that kind of mind. There are very few photographs of the older Sai Baba, but after studying them it is clear that the Shirdi Baba was a man who did not care for worldly pleasures or comforts.

Sathya Sai Baba has average will power
His willpower is also much like the rest of us. Average. This is clearly shown by the thumb. Although it is of a good size, it’s on a normal sized hand, and the phalanges are normal sized, and all of this shows a normal will. But the will is softened by conic tips and a supple thumb.

Sathya Sai Baba’s hands also show him to be person with delicate sensibility. This again has the unfortunate tendency of weakening will.

Why am I emphasizing this aspect? Because only a strong will can save a person from temptation. Need I say more?

This characteristic (a soft will) is not necessarily ungodly, but again one cannot help but compare this trait with that of the original Sai Baba of Shirdi.

The hands of the Sai Baba of Shirdi are very large (hands, not fingers) as compared to his body. Check this from the photograph on the left which I got from this site. This is a sign of someone who is calm, collected, someone who is in complete control of his emotions.

In addition, the thumb is very long, low-set, and has a very strong upper phalange and is held apart from the hand. All this shows very strong will-power and also deep compassion for human beings and a strong desire to help them.

The Sai Baba of Shirdi also has a supple thumb and flexible hands, but this is necessary in a hand which shows such a strong will as this is what gives him the softness, the openness, the humanity and deep understanding of people.

When I was studying this great person's hand, that of the Shirdi Baba, I could not help but feel a catch in my heart. Such a hand is rare, such human beings are rare. In fact I have never seen such a hand, either in real life or in photographs. I am not a believer but after seeing this hand I have started to feel a desire to visit the Shirdi Temple.

More about Sathya Sai Baba
But surely Sathya Sai Baba has something in him which is divine as well? Well, his hands show that he does have compassion for humanity, although this sign is much weaker in his hand than it is in the hands of the Sai Baba of Shirdi. Sathya Sai Baba does genuinely feel for people and can be very generous to them. It is interesting to note that this is a developed trait. It is missing in his left hand, the hand which shows inherited tendencies. The only explanation as far as I can see is that when he chose his calling (that of Godman) he decided to nurture this trait. It is possible to develop any quality in oneself, especially if there is pressure from society, and one is young enough.

The shape of Sathya’s Sai Baba’s palm shows breadth of vision and the way he holds his fingers show original thought and individualistic thinking. When combined with the talent he has for speech (Mercury), it is clear that he has something to give to society and to people. He certainly knows how to use words in an adroit and shrewd manner.

Desire for power
Sathya Sai Baba's Jupiter is long and this shows a person with a great sense of self, a person who desires responsibility and power and has the ability to honour commitments (not a bad trait in itself), but such fingers are a better fit on politicians. In fact this quality combined with his thumb qualities would give him great charisma. But his finger is too long and the traits a bit excessive. The means extreme righteousness and arrogance, taken to a dogmatic level. The conic tip increases the idealism. I personally do not believe that strong righteousness is a divine trait. The shape of the Jupiter finger makes him controlling and manipulative as well.

I could not find any photograph which showed the Jupiter finger of the Shirdi Sai Baba and so cannot compare the two on this aspect. However I have no doubt that the Shirdi Sai Baba's Jupiter finger would not show this sense of superiority. In fact I think it could well show humility.

Wisdom
Saturn is very important when it comes to wise and holy men as this is what shows wisdom and ability to think. Yes, Sathya Sai Baba has it, but not in an extreme development. Shouldn't wise and holy men possess an overdose of wisdom? Well, the Shirdi Baba certain has it! He has a beautiful Saturn finger towering above the rest, and the best part of it is the shape. It shows that this holy man has the qualities of wisdom, soberness, strong focus, thinking ability, philosophical bent of mind…and an abundance of it! I have never seen this sign in any hand before. This is a man one would have to bow to.

What seems unpalatable is that the shape of the Saturn finger on Sathya Sai Baba's hand bestows on him some of the negative qualities of this finger, like something akin to pessimism, or rather, some amount of negativity and bitterness, and also vindictiveness. This again shows him up for being only too human.

Risky business
The Sun finger on Sathya Sai Baba's hand shows him to be a person who is basically a showman and one who views life as a gamble. He is someone who will take great risks in life to get what he wants. I have already mentioned the factors which drive him. People with this type of Sun finger usually go too far, and as a result can ruin their life. The rashness in the personality and the tendency to overestimate oneself is what leads them down a dangerous path. I think this trait is the key to his personality.

He has come into the news of late due to indiscreet remarks. It will be interesting to see what makes him tick. I am also exploring the idea of reading the hands of some more Bollywood personalities like Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. The hand analysis of the Princess of Wales, Lady Diana

Strange isn’t it. Diana, the Princess of Wales was not a heir to the throne of England, but her hands show that she had some blue-blood, if not running in her veins, then certainly in her heart and soul. Whether it was poise and queenly grace that she had, or whether it was the love and care and compassion that she felt for people, this woman was a real Queen. She lost it all before she died. Her hands explain why she threw it all away and they will also tell us why her marriage to Prince Charles was doomed from the start.

Compassion
The most important digit on one’s hand is the thumb, and Princess Di’s thumb shows her deep compassion and love for people. This is collaborated by the development of the Mount of Venus.

Talent for making money
There is something odd however. Her hand shows the ability to make money. I used the word odd because this sign, the development of the second phalanges, is usually on the hands of square tipped and square, practical hands. Successful businessmen often have this sign. But Diana’s hands show her to be idealistic person in many ways, and her hand also shows her to inward thinking (Saturn). Therefore this money making quality sits a little oddly with her, but then every individual is a hotpot of different qualities and it is what makes us all unique. If we take money making talent + idealism + a love for humanity, what do we get? But let's not connect the dots as yet...

Diana’s Sun finger is good, which gives her attractiveness, spontaneity, and even a kind of brilliance, but as the finger is a little low-set it takes away a significant portion of a person’s desire for wealth and fame...for themselves. When one connects the dots, one finds a person who can make money if she wants to, but does not really want to, not for herself that is. Her lack of love for money is collaborated by other signs, like the third phalanges of her Mercury and Sun fingers. It was natural that she would turn to raising money for charity. However even here she was not consistent, and the explanation for that is further down the post.

Her personal life
Diana may have had a fantastic public persona, and with good reason, but she was very different in her personal life. It is almost as if she had a double personality. She was not an easy person to live with. She had emotional conflicts, and only a sensitive person could have understood her.

A combination of signs including her Jupiter finger tells us that she needed attention (not just public attention) and she would have tried to get it hook or by crook. Diana lacked aggressiveness (Mars), but her hands show that she did not lack any ability to manipulate, and could in fact be cunning. Diana's hand is not balanced in this regard. By reading her Mercury and Saturn fingers in combination with her headline, it seems clear that Di could go to almost any extent to draw attention to herself, even if it meant lying.

Worse, Diana had a morbid side to her (Saturn finger) and this enabled her to see the negative side to almost everything quite easily (including herself). People with this sign usually find it difficult to enjoy themselves or be happy for long. The bad Saturn increases her tendency towards jealousy. If things did not go her way, if Di did not get the attention she needed, then she would suffer, either with jealousy, or bitterness. Quite the opposite of Charles in fact. A lot of people have written that it was he who was jealous of the attention that Diana got in public, but Charles' hands show that he is not that type. His evident displeasure had more to do with anger, rather than jealousy.

Another negative quality of Diana's was that she was not a fighter, and was in fact quite deficient in Martian qualities. She lacked a fighting spirit and staying power, and lacked aggressiveness as well. She would prefer to suffer in silence, expecting to be understood, expecting to be treated fairly. It is likely that Diana was lacking in energy as well, to some extent, and this I have read from the way she holds her hand. Such people cannot sustain any career or work for very long. This would be a dampener on the good points shown by her thumb because she would not be consistent. I have seen this sign (of a certain listlessness) on some hands of people who have emotional problems.

In addition Lady Diana was impulsive and impressionable and yet wilful. Not a very good combination.

Charles and Diana
Diana married Prince Charles for love, but public reports indicate that they never got along. A comparison of their hands reveals why. He is a straightforward, aggressive, short-tempered and proud person while she was like a delicate flower who needed watering.

Diana had not married Prince Charles to be Queen, but to be loved and cherished like a Princess. She could have sustained a long term relationship with a man who was attentive, devoted, and loving.

Shah Rukh Khan’s hands tell us why and how he became so successful

Shah Rukh Khan reached the top in the Indian film industry, but he is not known as be a phenomenal actor or a great looker. As he not from a "filmi" background, one cannot help but wonder how exactly he made it in Bollywood. A look at his hand gives us some clues as to the secret of his success.

A combination of the most useful and essential qualities (for success) got SRK to where he is. The most impressive aspect of Shah Rukh’s personality is his

strong will-power. His thumb is a good one, showing great will and determination. Such a strong will can rub people the wrong way but Shah Rukh Khan compensates for this with adroitness and tact, shown not just by his thumb but also his Mercury. In fact Mercurian qualities predominate in his hand, giving him not just diplomacy wherever it’s needed, but also astuteness. He is a keen observer, a good judge of human nature, and has a way with words. This gives him an edge over others. It also makes him a successful manipulator (confirmed by his Jupiter finger).

This isn’t all. Shah Rukh's Mount of Mars is strong. This makes him aggressive. This is so pronounced in him that it can irritate others, but his shrewdness saves him most of the time. To make things easier for those around him, SRK does not have a temper.

He does have plenty of mental strength however, another Mars quality. This strength stops him from being discouraged easily, and enables him to sustain himself in bad times and continue with his goals relentlessly, never quite giving up. Single-minded pursuit of his goal is something that comes naturally to him as he in an innately serious and intense person. SRK has an excellent Saturn finger, and one of the few I have seen which is strong but without Saturn’s negative influences. Saturn’s positive qualities are a boon for anyone. Wisdom, a sense of balance and single-minded purpose, without which it is difficult to be extraordinarily successful. SRK has a strong focus plus the ability to direct all available energy into his goals. He is the kind of person who will go after what he wants and not rest until he gets it.

Shah Rukh's intensity and energy is evident on screen. It comes from deep inside and it is partly related to the strength of his Mercury. It is not just acting. Some of the roles he chose at the start of his career (example Darr) where he plays an obsessed and morbid lover are roles which he could play with aplomb because a part of him is like that. Obsessive. His strong Saturn confirms this reading. However this is in the realm of fantasy. In real life he is in balance because his head rules. That doesn't mean he doesn't feel intensely about wanting something.

Acting talent?
Intensity and energy are a part and parcel of his personality and his strong Mercury gives him a talent for mimicry. In fact his acting is very much based on this: imitation. He prefers some standard ways of acting. It is not as if he lacks creativity, just that he doesn't want to take the long road. If the short road works, he prefers the formulae.

SRK's drawbacks
All of the personality characteristics that I have mentioned above have their downside, but there is something else. Mercury may give Shah Rukh his quickness and energy, but it also gives him a certain suspiciousness and shrewdness. He would at various points in his life have been tempted to take short-cuts, but he would be too smart to be caught. An overabundance of scruples is unlikely to stop him. Not when it comes to getting something he wants. However, there is another thing - he has the will to stop himself from doing something wrong and is overall a straightforward person.

What is SRK's driving force?
It is interesting to note that Shah Rukh Khan's hands show that he is not driven by a need for power, fame or money. Yes, recognition means a lot to him, but that's recognition rather than fame. But even more than recognition, there is something else.

It’s difficult to explain. He is basically an inward kind of person and tends to be melancholy at times, and seems to want to prove something to himself all the time. To himself or to those he loves. It’s some sort of self satisfaction or self actualization, a need to come up to his own idea of himself. Or to live up to some ideal. To win. That is important to him.

What's he like as a man?
Shah Rukh is a serious sort, although he has the ability to enjoy himself as well. He has a broad perspective on life, although he tends to be controlling and obsessive. He needs to be careful that he does not degenerate into a bully. However SRK's head tends to rule and when he realizes that he is going to an extreme he can pull himself back. In fact he can be influenced and convinced. He is also smart enough to change himself. He can be quite moody.

He may not make the most attentive husband but he certainly is the kind who will be a committed family man. Doing anything else would mean a falling in his own estimation.

Prince Charles is the kind of person who likes to get things done, likes to see things through to the end. His hand belongs to a person who can get impatient with delay. He is a doer. Active and energetic. All this is evident from even a quick glance at his hand. His hand is fairly easy to read as some the signs are obvious. Thick fingers, slightly on the shorter side, hand too on the shorter side, and also deep pink with strong mounts.

But what does this kind of hand show about the Prince as a man? What is he like from the inside? Well, it's not all good.

Prince Charles' hands and nails shows his energy, but they also show him to be temperamental and hot headed. The conic tips and a strong Mounts of Mars accentuate this trait. He is certainly not the kind of man one should cross! Temper, aggressiveness and the ability to resist, he has it all. His thumb is good too and gives him strong will power and stubbornness.

His nature is such that he likes to solve problems, not just think about them. Neither will he ever wallow in misery. He will take quick decisions to make things better, and act on them. In this he can at times go to an extreme. He is the kind who can be so busy executing his plans that he may neglect to notice that he is breaking a few rules or that he has not gone into the details of his plans.

A good man
But Prince Charles will never be petty or mean or vindictive, although he may hurt people with his bluntness. One of the signs that shows this is the shape of his palm, which shows his ability to see things from a broad perspective. True, he can be set and rigid in some ways, and cautious as well, but he has a big heart and will be able to see things from an unselfish standpoint.

His conic Jupiter and good first phalange of the same finger show him to be a person who believes in a higher causes. The rest of his hand collaborates this reading...that of a person who will do things for others.

His strong Mount of Venus tells us about his love for humanity and alongwith other signs, his charisma. Prince Charles is a warm and solid person. He is the kind of man who will never be driven by the love of money, but his weakness is that he is driven to a large extent by a need for appreciation. If he doesn’t get it, he will be an unhappy man. He is not the kind who will ever be happy to crawl into the woodwork, doing his own thing, however important it is.

This is evident by the shape of Jupiter finger and also by the thickness of the lower phalange of the Sun finger. It shows that he is controlling and loves attention. However he is not a tyrant by any means. What saves him is basic generous, kind and just nature.

He is not what he was born with
What I found most interesting about the Prince’s hand was the way some of his inherited traits have changed due to his environment. He was born a serious person, very focused, with an ability to be studious, but something in his environment altered him. This is one quality which is hard to change. He has a strong Saturn finger on his left hand (which shows the qualities he was born with) but it is weak on the right. In fact, any change in the shape and size of a finger on any hand is significant. If one takes into account other traits which have changed, the conclusion one comes to is that Prince Charles was brought up with the idea that he needn’t ever do anything on his own steam. Today he lacks a strong tenacity of purpose and runs into a danger of scattering his energies. A pity, because his noble ideals and strong will could have achieved anything he set his mind to.

Another trait of his which has changed is evident from the finger of Jupiter. It shows that while he was born controlling, he was never this proud. Prince Charles may not have ever have been exactly humble, but he was never meant to be as proud as he is today. He was born with a normal dosage of the qualities of pride and righteousness and honour but today these qualities are out of balance.

His third phalange of Mercury, amongst other signs, tell us of his stinginess, of the need he has to make every penny count.

The future?
Only a detailed study of his lines can tell of future trends. But from whatever little I see from his lines, it is clear that he needs to be careful about his health. His hand shows him to be the kind of person who will tend to push his body to the limit, whether it be over-exerting himself in physical activity or not taking care to control his diet. He enjoys his food and drink and likes the pleasures of life a little too much.

Priyanka Gandhi's hand analysis

Priyanka Gandhi is an independent minded and compassionate woman but she is not all that she appears to be. She is no wimp! Narendra Modi called her “gudiya” once and he couldn’t be more wrong. This woman is no doll. She is nowhere on India’s political scene at the moment but the truth is that she is an heir of the Nehru family and knowing how dynastic we Indians are, one never knows when this scion might enter politics, that too at a high level. That is why this analysis. To delve into her mind and find out whether she will be good for India. Scion or not, if she is suited to politics she deserves a chance. But is she suited to a political career? That is the question.

Let me enumerate Priyanka’s good points first. As mentioned in the first paragraph, Priyanka is independent minded, but not so much so as to make her too individualistic. Her thumb is in fact an extraordinary one, and one cannot help but think that it must be an inheritance of the Gandhi family, although I have not seen it in Rajiv Gandhi’s hand. It is possible that Indira Gandhi or Nehru had this type of thumb but despite searching the internet I could not get a clear picture of their hands.

But what is so extraordinary about Priyanka’s thumb?

Well, her thumb is the kind which gives her great generosity, sympathy, understanding and the love for liberty. It also tells us that she has the kind of will which is so strong and so well directed towards a specific goal that she can use it to help others. She genuinely does feel for others. It is a thumb which shows strong determination. She has a thumb which every politician in the world should have because of the qualities it bestows.

It is not at all surprising that Priyanka Gandhi forgave her father’s assassin. When I read about this I felt it was some sort of publicity stunt, but after reading Priyanka’s hand I know it wasn’t. She has this ability to forgive terrible wounds that have been inflicted on her. This trait is all the more admirable as Priyanka is more sensitive that the average person.

It is also quite clear as to why she stepped aside and let her brother Rahul enter politics. She probably knows that she has the charisma and the leadership qualities to lead and attract people to her, more than Rahul has, and if she had entered politics it would have been difficult for Rahul to make a mark. I am sure that there are other instances where her deeply generous nature is revealed. Her near and dear ones will know of it.

The underside
However all is not hunky dory, because every person needs to be seen as a whole and if one sees Priyanka Gandhi’s hand as a whole one finds that she has some negative qualities which her positive qualities cannot compensate for. At times the positive qualities can compensate, but it finally depends on which circumstances bring out which quality.

Priyanka’s Jupiter and Sun fingers tell us that she loves power, attention and fame, and if she gets power she is likely to become authoritarian. In fact that would be her style of management: Authoritarian. She is likely to be quite manipulative and pushy in the achievement of her goals.

True, her strong Jupiter tells us that she loves honour and has a belief in a higher cause. She is likely to do what she does in the belief that she is doing it for that higher cause. I have little doubt about Priyanka’s great love for India. It’s not just her Jupiter finger that tells us this, but also the placement of her thumb and the tips of her fingers, which are mostly conic. This shows idealism, but not a good sign in anyone who intends to be a politician. It shows someone who believes in an “ideal” state, an “ideal” government and “ideal” behavior. Politicians on the other hand need to have their nose to the ground.

What is disturbing to know is that Priyanka’s Jupiter and Mercury fingers show that she is capable of doing just about anything in her power to achieve an “ideal” and she will roughshod over opposition. Unfortunately she can be quite unscrupulous as well. In other words there is a certain element of ruthlessness in her personality. And her Sun finger also tells us that she invariably overestimates not just herself, but also the outcome of her actions. Moreover, Priyanka is not a deep thinker and nor is she studious.

She is not always practical. This is evident from the shape of her hand, the tips of her fingers and also from whatever little I could see of her head line. Despite this however she is quite independent when it comes to doing things. This is shown not just by the placement of her little finger but the slight gap between life and head lines. To some extent she does not care what others think. She will however set some high standards for herself (her own standards) and will in fact behave in a righteous way. Her righteous and honourable behavior (as she thinks of it) will not brook interference from others. In fact she would stick to some principle or the other even if it is obviously impractical to others. Being independent minded, she thinks for herself, and therefore it would not be easy to convince her that what she is doing may not work. The problem is that she is arrogant as well.

This is not all. The shape of Priyanka’s Saturn finger as well as her Lower Mount of Moon tells us that she can dislike others intensely. In fact she often sees others in a negative and cynical light, being quite sure that it is she who is right, and above the others. Even when she forgives she believes it is her own goodness that is making her do it.
She can be quite malevolent towards those who oppose her.

Coming to her good side, she can make quite a splash personally and impress others with her seeming brilliance. She loves beautiful things, and can be very persuasive and charming and tactful when she wants something. Otherwise she can be quite blunt. In fact, she has no hesitation in speaking her mind. She has a very strong Sun finger.

Her conic tips and supple thumb tell us that she is herself quite impressionable and can be impulsive. What would move her are ideas and noble thoughts. However there is a strong element of hypocrisy here, because the shape of her hand as well as her Mercury finger shows that she believes the end is what matters, not the means.

All in all, Priyanka’s hands show that she is not suited to a politician’s life. In my opinion this is because her hands show that she would find it difficult to handle opposition (politics is all about opposition) in a democratic way, she is too idealistic, she lacks executive ability, she does not believe in the system and is likely to break rules, and she does not have her nose to the ground, she is sensitive and even a little laid back. True, she has the ability to do great good, and she has the will and personality to command others, but she does not like to get her hands dirty. She is the kind of politician who will easily fall prey to sycophants who may not have the country's interest at heart.

Gordon Brown's hands tell us that he is a good man, but is he an effective leader?

As a human being Gordon Brown does very well. His hands show him to be a sympathetic, generous and warm person. He likes people and can be a great friend and partner. Today he is the Prime Minister of Britain and one wonders whether he is an effective one. Whether he is a true leader. A look at the shape of his hands and fingers gives us a clue.

Gordon Brown at Work
Brown certainly has leadership qualities. His thumb and finger of Mercury both tell us of a determined mind guided by the head, and of a person who is eloquent and reasonable. It also tells us that these hands belong to a man who is honest and straightforward and is a straight talker to boot. Diplomacy is not a virtue with him though.

His strong Venus is not just high in the right places but wide as well, and this doesn't just tell us of his warm and giving nature, it tells us of his willingness of help and guide others in his professional life. Being of a magnanimous nature he tends to attract people towards him. This is a good quality in a politician, this love for people, and another politician whose hands I have analysed, Nicholas Sarkozy, has this too, although he is very different from Brown. This quality makes it easy for the politicians to connect with voters, if they have other good qualities. Such people feel genuine compassion and care for their people.

Not that strong a leader
When it comes to action, Brown may falter. He does have a good command over people, but the question is how he chooses to exercise his command. His Jupiter and Mars tell us that he is not just ambitious, he is controlling and pushy. This would make him interfering. He has a bit of a temper as well, as is evident in the development of his Plain of Mars. These qualities cannot endear him to his team, and nor is it the best or the most effective method to get his way. A true leader would fall back on persuasion and consensus. It’s not as if Brown cannot do that, because he has a good head and is a reasonable man. The problem is that he does not stick to his guns and follow through when it comes to an agenda and/or because people resent it when they see him to be fulfilling his own need for power, in other words, for selfish reasons.

The shape of Gordon Brown’s hand shows that he has a slightly narrow approach to problems and at times can get quite caught up in various plans to boost his own image, rather than that of the nation.

He is a thinker and has good analytical ability but unfortunately this very quality of his can be used to nitpick and interfere. The positive side of this is that he is critical thinker but the downside is that he can get too critical and argumentative. In any case he thrives on attention, fame and adulation. Both his Jupiter and Sun finger point to that.

It’s not as if Brown lacks the ability to see the broad picture. The shape of his hand tells us that he can see it, but he may have other priorities.

His cautiousness before taking any firm actions can prevent him from being a doer, and make him more of a talker.

Another drawback is that Brown prefers the tried and tested methods when it comes to doing things. He is not bold in his views either. This prevents him from being a leader of the future and a visionary.

Other good qualities
Brown has many good qualities which balance out his personality. His Saturn shows him to be a balanced and prudent person, very dependable and reliable. His square tips give him the ability to see things as they are, and see his own faults. True, he can be stubborn, but not overly so.

Brown in his personal life
As a person he tends to be pleasure seeking. He is active and likes to enjoy life. He is neat in his physical surroundings and careful about the way he appears. He has good taste. He would make a lively companion and be an excellent and loyal friend.

Overall Gordon Brown has a good hand. Sure, he has his weaknesses but he is a good and honourable man. He needs to curb his desire to be controlling, and his tendency to overestimate himself.

What do Rahul Gandhi's hands tell us about his capability as a politician?

Rahul Gandhi is a decent person, an independent thinker, has a balanced personality and an open mind. The question is: Would he be effective as the Prime Minister of India? People say that he is being groomed for the top job and that is why this question becomes very important. I will try to answer it by studying the shape of his hand and fingers.

Will he make a good politician?
As Rahul’s thumb tells us, his will is certainly a not weak one, but if one takes into account the kind of will one needs to lead a country, then he needs more

of it. You need a very strong will to command and dominate others, to lead them to a goal. Rahul may have sufficient for himself, and he may have very good reasoning powers and judgment as well, but all in all he lacks the strong dominant will that strong leader of any nation needs. This isn’t about goodness or badness, just leadership. It is not just his thumb phalanges that are being taken into account here, but also the fact that his thumb is slightly flexible and slightly conic tipped, all of which softens the will. If he had excess of will, these softening influences are good. But he doesn't have an excess of it.
What makes him weaker is that Rahul is a refined person, lacking the kind of pushiness and aggression that can help make up for an average will. True, he can be stubborn on occasion although his stubbornness is no match for his father's, Rajiv Gandhi!

Rahul’s Jupiter fingers tells us that he does not have a greed for power or any craving to rule. This is a good sign because it means that even if Rahul gets power he is unlikely to become a tyrant or develop such a love for his chair that he will compromise the democratic institutions of this country. The shape of his hand also tells us that he is not selfish or narrow in his approach and he does have the intention to do good for India. This all holds as long as he does not change once he gets power. My reading is that as he is already into his forties, and his ideas and character is fairly set it is unlikely that he will intrinsically change. His strong Upper Mount of Mars also gives an indication that he is the kind to stick to his views.

Rahul has other qualities which can help him be a good leader even if he does not have a dominant will. As his Jupiter finger and mount shows, he has a sense of honour and self pride, as well as ambition (even if it is not to rule), and he is in fact very fair, and believes in a higher cause. He has ideals and a vision.

Even better, the position of Rahul’s fingers tell us that is very independent minded, and also acts independently although he has tried to curb this latter trait. This is a very good sign in a leader, (independence of thought) because it means he will not depend on sycophants.

His Saturn tells us that he will take responsibility and try to fulfill it diligently, and that he is dependable.

However he lacks another quality which a politician needs to have. Which is a canny shrewdness. It is not as if he is naïve, although he can be trusting. But he does lack that sharp cunning that seems to be necessary to people to survive and thrive, in Indian politics at least.

Rahul can express himself well and is tactful. If given the chance he can hone himself to be a good speaker although he does lack the magnetism. This is because Rahul is not really a people’s person. It is not that he doesn't like people, in fact he does like to reach out to them. He is certainly not as difficult to approach as his mother is, but he does have an inherent something that makes him a bit of a loner. Whatever little I could glean from his heart line and the beginning of his head and life tell us this about him. Call it cautiousness or shyness or inhibition, but it can prevents him from truly emotionally connecting with a mass of people. We are not talking about personal relationships here, but Rahul as a leading politician in India. What is good is that he keeps improving in this department as he gets older and will keep improving. His Mount of Venus has a good development and this is a good sign.

I personally think that as he led a protected life in his early years (both he and Priyanka were schooled at home due to security concerns) it did nothing to ease his cautiousness and shyness. It is important to note however that he was born this way. (the left hand tells us the inherited qualities and the right hand the person's current thinking if the person is right handed, like Rahul is.)

From looking at his hands I can confidently say that if Rahul had not been born in a politician's family he would not have chosen politics as a career. He doesn’t have that type of ambition. He in fact is happy doing some serious work in the background, and feeling useful. I guess this is because most of us know our limitations and Rahul is no exception. In Rahul's case, if he had not been born with the silver spoon in his mouth he would never have been elected as MP as he does not have the pulling power, the power to pull in votes on his own steam. His name is what got him the votes. But I guess one doesn't even have to read his hands to say this. Most people believe this anyway.

What Rahul Gandhi is like as a person:
Rahul has broad and liberal views, and is a practical and reasonable man. He is not as calm as he appears to be though. All the three Mars Mounts on his hand tell a story. They tell us that he has a bit of a temper although it has decreased over the years. Not just his temper, his aggression levels have gone down too, from what he has inherited. However his mental strength has not diminished. He is in fact fairly resilient, can be difficult to push and is steadfast in his views. This quality of his, evident in the development of his Upper Mars, is an excellent sign as his thumb is not very strong. It is interesting to note that both his parents, Rajiv and Sonia have this quality too (of mental strength) and as it is present in Rahul’s left hand too, it shows that this is an inherited quality. As both his parents have this, the environment was such that this quality of his must have been nurtured.

Rahul’s Saturn finger and Mount (as well as his head line and thumb) tell us that he is practical and has common sense, but that does not mean that he is that agreeable a person up close. He can be stubborn and he also has a tendency to do something which he feels is right and in this sense he can go against societal norms, making people around him uncomfortable.

He also has a tendency to take himself too seriously, or in other words he is a serious person although he can lighten up on occasion. He can be moody.

He can be quite economical and at times stingy. He is not the studious sort but he does have an active mind and enjoys mental pursuits. He is disciplined and controlled. He is the type one can rely on, a friend who will be true.

His Sun finger tells us that he has good taste and a liking for art although he is not the kind of person to spurge on it. Although he is not avaricious, money does matter to him, in the sense of maintaining the kind of lifestyle that he is used to. It’s not just the comforts that are important to him, but also the status that it brings him.

It wasn’t easy reading Rahul Gandhi's hand as there was no photograph of his which revealed the lines much. The shape of the hand does give a framework of a person’s character, but it's the lines that can give the specifics. In some of the readings I have done, Hillary Clinton's for example, I got a vague idea of her lines which helped me a lot in the reading. In the case of Rahul this was not possible.

Will Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister of India?
As for Rahul's future, whether he will actually get the top job or not, that is impossible to say without getting a good look at the lines of his hand. Even then, nothing is ever fixed. Some years ago Rahul did not even want to become Prime Minister, today he is mulling over the idea but is reluctant, so tomorrow who knows? Some years later he might even want to become the P.M. and go after it, and then his personality might change and maybe he might even become a dynamic leader! One can never tell about tomorrow.

Anyway, even if Rahul is pushed or persuaded to become the P.M tomorrow, the man will certainly not harm India. He has some very good qualities as this reading shows and will also be able to get the right people on his team as he is not the kind to fall prey to sycophants.

A cursory look at her hands shows that she is quite different from her brother Rahul. Does this mean that she should join politics? Her hands can give us the answer.

How to send me your hand photographs - Part II

In this post I am going to describe the kind of photographs I need to read hands. In a previous post How to send me your hand prints and images I have mentioned that I need "at least 5-6 photos of each hand from different angles, including one which shows the back of the hand". The more the pictures, the easier it is me. You also need to mention which hand you write with. This is very important. If you are ambidextrous as many left handed people are, this also needs to be mentioned.

The photographs are for two purposes:

1) To see the shape of the hand and the placement of the fingers.
2) To see the lines, including ridges and apexes.

What you can get:
From the first I can give an overview of the personality. Any major changes in personality over the years can also be discerned.

If I get to read the lines, the character analysis can be more specific than one based on the shape of the hand.

Future trends (based on what the person is like currently) can also be read from the lines. Major events from the past can be told.

This can be of use to you in several ways. You can understand yourself better and get a better idea of your talents and capabilities. Character is destiny and if you rectify any trait which is not desirable, your future is liable to change.

It is also possible to do a compatibility analysis of two people. Compatibility is a complex subject, but there is research which has revealed that people of similar temperaments get along better. Even if you are already married, the character analysis via hand reading can help you adjust to each other better.

The photographs required for hand reading:
When you take a picture of your hand the important thing is to hold your hands and your fingers naturally. If there is stiffness you will get a wrong reading. To get it right you can practice by placing your hand face down on a table to see the natural position of the fingers. Or you can close your fingers over your palm and then open the palm in a relaxed manner, and see how the fingers fare. It is important to open the hand fully.

I am giving a few samples here so that you understand the different ways people hold their fingers.

In the first photo you can see that the fingers are more or less at an even distance from each other. In the second photograph the middle two fingers are closer together than the other fingers to each other. In the third photograph all the four fingers are close together. In some cases (not in the photo) the thumb is also held close to the fingers. All of this will affect the reading so it is important that you hold your hands naturally. One way to get the natural position of the fingers is to close your fist and then open up your palm and fingers fully, all the while holding your hand vertical as shown in the first two photographs above.

When I read hands of celebrities it is fairly easy to get the correct position of their fingers as I check scores of photos when they are not conscious of the way they hold their hands.

In your case, I need photographs which are taken directly from the front as I will be working with only a few photos. At least 2-3 photographs of the full hand are required. The tips of the fingers need to be visible. Remember that the camera lens should be directly in front of the hand.

If you want your lines read then the photographs need to be of a high resolution. Here is an example of a the kind of quality I need. I have magnified a portion of a hand photograph to give you an idea as to the quality:

To check whether the photo you have is of the required quality, all you need to do is zoom into the photograph to see if the lines and ridges are clear. In the photograph above you can see the apexes clearly too. Unless a photograph is this clear the lines cannot be read properly. Here is an image from my camera handbook which talks of the close up setting. Note the icon. It will be in your camera if it is a digital camera.

In total I will need at least 5-6 photographs of each hand to be able to read the lines. I will make a list of the kind of photographs I need:

1) At least two photographs each of the complete right hand and left hand from the tips of the fingers to the bottom of the palm taken directly from the front. This means a total of 4 photographs, two of the right and two of the left. Remember the camera lens needs to be directly in the front of the hand.

2) Two more photographs each of the right and left hands (full) from different angles. Here are some examples. This means another four photographs

3) Close up photographs of the palm of both right and left hands from different angles. You can send as many as you think necessary, but at least 2-3 of each hand. One of them has to be directly from the front, as shown below.

When you send me the images let me know three things:
1. Is your palm soft and on the harder/rough side?
2. Is your hand supple and flexible? For example, is it stiff or does bend backwards a little? Does it bend backwards a lot? Use your judgment and let me know these aspects. It will help me in my reading.
3. Which hand do you write with? And even if it is your left hand, do you use your right hand too for other activities? In other words, are you ambidextrous or is it mainly one hand which you use?

About the photos, as I mentioned, the quality of these photographs has to be very good, of a high resolution, otherwise I cannot do the reading of the lines.

FOR THIS YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST A 5-6 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA. BUT IT IS BEST TO HAVE A HIGHER MEGAPIXEL. THE HIGHER THE BETTER.

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

Do not take the photograph yourself as it can affect the angle
Use a close-up setting (look for closeup icon)
Take Large Photos with Superfine quality (Check "Menu" of your camera)
Turn off the flash
Keep your hand still while the photo is being taken
Take the photograph outdoors in natural light
Avoid direct sunlight on the hand as it can cause a reflection
Avoid taking the photograph on dull days or late evening
Ensure that your hands are clean and dry
Check the photographs on your computer before sending them
Under no circumstances should you reduce the size of the file

Robert Pattinson's hand analysis

A cursory look at Robert Pattinson’s hands makes us believe that he is quite perfect in every way! A balanced and talented artiste, very capable and intelligent. Reasonable and honourable. In fact one feels that nothing can disturb the seeming equilibrium of his personality. However, deeper into the reading one realises that Robert Pattinson does have his weaknesses, like all of us do, whether famous or not.

His limitations
Robert Pattinson needs to be careful about his flexibility (seen by the suppleness of hand). This can be a good quality but his openness to new ideas (broad quadrangle, thumb placement) give him the ability to absorb new ideas a trifle too quickly. This again is not a bad thing in itself, but Pattinson is not always an independent thinker (from the way he holds his fingers). This means that it won't be difficult for him to be influenced by another person’s ideas, a reading accentuated by his conic tipped thumb. He is particularly taken in by idealism.

What gives more weight to this reading are his smooth fingers (knots not well developed). This shows a person who often does things without thinking too deeply and again this by itself is not bad, but when combined with the reading given above it can turn out to be a flaw in his personality.

What is a trifle worrying that at least three of his fingers are on the thicker side, which shows a seeking of pleasure and a certain sensualism, the latter reading accentuated by his heart line. Again, a lot of people have this sign and do not go overboard, but every personality has to be read after taking into account how much control the person has over himself. Robert Pattinson has the control.

Not a people's person
Robert Pattinson is more introverted than extroverted, and he is a serious person (Saturn finger and Mount is strong) and is also moody, and can be melancholy (Mount of Moon). All in all, he is definitely vulnerable, specially if you take into account the qualities mentioned in the previous paragraph. Robert does not trust people easily and could therefore misunderstand someone’s good intentions in terms of advise.

Overall, Robert's hand shows that he prefers the society of a few people with whom bonds closely. He is not the social type. Being dependent on close and intense relationships could lead him to think poorly of a lot of other people whom he is not close to. He has to be very careful of this tendency to think badly of people.

The development of his Lower Mount of Moon shows he can have morbid thoughts on occasion.

The smooth fingers also suggest that he is not very particular about tidiness and this means personal tidiness as well as also any kind of detailed planning about the future.

Balancing qualities
None of the above is as bad as it sounds because Robert Pattinson has plenty of balancing qualities. He is very intelligent and capable for one thing, has strong will power, an excellent reasoning ability and common sense, which one can make out from his thumb and whatever little is visible of his head line. Neither his head nor his heart rules, which gives him balance of personality and prevents extreme thinking of any kind.

His thumb shows that he has an unselfish approach to his work and life and dear ones and has compassion for those less fortunate than him. From his Jupiter we can make out that honour, fairness and integrity are very important to him and he can be idealistic in this aspect. His Mercury tells us that he has good powers of expression even though he is not always diplomatic, and from his Saturn finger we can make out that he is trustworthy and dependable. He will use his will power with a purpose and goal in mind and would not like to fritter away his life.

His thumb further tells us that he is not impulsive, and can in fact be very cautious and conservative before taking any action. This balances out his tendency to be influenced, and when it comes to what he perceives as big decisions in his life he will be careful.

One of his great qualities is that he has an ability to see his own faults and makes a determined effort to change. He is not stubborn. All of the above, and mainly his thumb and Jupiter tell us that Robert Pattinson has very good leadership qualities. It is not always that one finds such fine character in the field that he is in, which is acting. He is much more than an artiste.

Even though he is balanced, Robert needs to keep in control his restlessness and also ensure that he does not keep himself too much away from society. From what I saw from his Mount of Venus, which has average development, he is likely to become more introverted as he passes the age of 35-40. This need not be a bad thing but as I cannot see his lines clearly I cannot say how this will affect his future or why he changes.

What the hands tell us about Brad and Angelina's relationship

A comparison of the hands of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston reveal how very different they are as people. Jennifer is a serious, idealistic person. She is very talented and moody as well, with a tendency to brood. Angelina on the other hand is more casual about life, even flippant at times, and is always ready for adventure.

Both are aggressive and determined ladies, but Jennifer tends to be more overtly aggressive than Angelina, although at heart both of them are soft and vulnerable. That must the kind of woman that Brad is attracted to...strong and independent but soft inside.
Looking at it purely from what has been revealed by their hands, it does seem
as if Brad and Angelina must have hit if off really well, at least at first. I know people say that Angelina was younger and more beautiful and that is why Brad left Jen, but that is only half the story. With Brad and Angelina there would be an instant attraction of personalities and only after studying their hands can one fully comprehend why the press called them Brangelina! Both of them are lovers of Life, and both have things they would enjoy doing together. It’s easy to see why they were attracted to each other, and would have a great time being together. Sexual attraction always does play a part but it must have figured more with Brad's attraction to Jennifer Aniston.

Brad himself is the kind of person who likes adventure and likes to explore and experience different things and in this he would get a more willing companion in Angelina. Jennifer is the kind who would find a dozen reasons why one should not do a certain thing and would want things just so. Angelina would be more willing to take chances, and not complain if plans don't work out perfectly. She is more accepting of situations if they do not work out exactly as planned, although Angelina herself is a great planner! Brad is a practical sort and never does expect perfection. He can accept things as they are to a large extent. In fact his problem is that he doesn't plan that much and here Angelina would be a big asset to him. She will plan and take life as it comes as well! This could irritate him at times.

When it comes to getting along I had mentioned that Brad is put off by too much overt aggression and pushiness (he is not like that himself) and here Angelina scores over Aniston as she is less overtly aggressive. However Angelina is more controlling and possessive than Jennifer and is likely to dictate to Brad even in small things. I am not sure how he handles this because he himself is a controlling person to some extent. This would be a major source of conflict.

There are other reasons why Brangelina’s relationship can become rocky. Angelina tends to go overboard at times, and can lose focus from the actual business of living. Brad is more balanced, more practical, and some of Angelina’s ideas he just would not like. She never just has ideas, she likes to follow them through and this is a source of conflict as well.

However it is possible that they may not clash too much on the issue of financial security as long as both are earning huge sums. The latest news is that Angelina is now the highest paid actress in Hollywood. As I am not aware of the exact situation in their respective careers (in terms how much income and expenditure they have or their potential earnings) it is difficult to say how much they clash on this issue. However, it sure is a potential source of conflict, particularly now as they have many children.

Angelina has her faults, but being more practical and less self-centred than Jennifer, she is likely to get along better with Brad. However one should keep in mind that Angelina's hands show that she can be quite manipulative, and would do what it takes to try and get her way with Brad. She would like to do what she pleases but would not tolerate the same in Brad. And when it comes to persuading her, what Brad will always have to watch out for is her ego and her righteousness.

Angelina has a very broad outlook on life, very liberal, and Brad’s hand shows that his set ideas start to change as he gets into his forties, becoming more liberal and broadminded. It is possible that Angelina has influenced him.

All in all, Brad is the more balanced personality of the two, calm and very solid and dependable. However he is no pushover and would seethe with resentment if he finds himself being manipulated or controlled. However, as I had mentioned in Angelina’s reading, she is vulnerable at heart, and can put aside her ego if handled right. That's a big IF.

When relationships go wrong it is not always because there are irreconcilable differences, but often because communication breaks down. One hopes that this doesn't happen in the case of Brangelina, because they have a decent amount of compatibility with each other. Unpleasantness however has its way of creating bitterness and resentment and hatred, and the couple needs to be careful. Particularly in a society where breaking up is no big deal.

The best thing about Brangelina is that Angelina appreciates Brad for what he is, something that Jennifer didn't when they were together. As much as I like Jennifer Aniston I hope that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remain together. They have a lot of things going for them.

Angelina, the famous Hollywood actress, can be a little too casual about life, and can lose focus. It’s almost as if an important cog in the serious business of life and living needs some tightening. This gives her personality an undesirable tilt and lack of balance. But although Angelina can lose focus at times, she has other personality characteristics which have earned her fame and name. She has a certain force to her personality, she is a go-getter. Ambitious and dominating, she is an independent thinker who likes to follow through with action.

Angelina is left handed and it was her left hand that was taken into consideration when this reading was done.

What is so special about her?
The strength of her thumb and Jupiter finger and mount reveals that Angelina Jolie is one ambitious and determined woman. She may not possess oodles of acting talent, but she does have an original way of approaching her work. When she decides on something she acts on it and follows it through. However her action-oriented nature has a downside. Angelina tends to do what her mind and heart tell her to do, and while doing it she does not care much about what others or society think. This gives a certain boldness to her personality and some might say a certain disregard for societal norms. The way she holds her fingers give us a clue to this side of her.

In fact she is the kind of person who will compromise quite a bit in a relationship, for the sake of someone she loves. She needs a beacon to guide her, push her in the right direction when she starts to shift focus.

Angelina wants love and devotion, not money, and nor is she a status-seeking person. In fact she is not at all materialistic but this quality can at times go to an extreme because she can become careless of the future and spend too much. Several signs on her hand, like her broad quadrangle, waisted fingers, her supple thumb, and the lesser development of her lower phalanges, particularly that of Mercury, point to this.

For some reason she has become less serious that what she was earlier as in her right hand her saturn finger seems to be of a good length. I am not sure of this aspect though, as it becomes difficult to make out from photographs. What is clear to see though is the difference in her heart line and it points to the fact that she has become a little less possessive and demanding of her loved ones, although she is still so. The differences in her Mount of Venus tells us that she has become more outgoing and warm and giving than what she was earlier.

If one has to write a conclusion to this character sketch one can say that though Angelina tends to go overboard at times, and can be arrogant and egoistic, but she has the kind of personality which can bend. She is not really all that tough and has good heart.
